i was also lucky enough to spend 3hrs in this exact simulator at the age of 14 it is absoulutly amazing u can even feel the bumps of your nose wheel going over the lights on the runway :)
WHen you think how tiring flying is just as a passenger sitting down in a chair it gives you some idea how nackering this job would be. FLying really does tire the human body. THe enviroment it puts you in is incredibly tiring and after a flight you always feel pretty knackered
@210482fmj It's the best. You get used to it. I can definitely handle fatigue. Some better than others. At the end of the day, it's the best job in the world. And personally the only job for me ;)
Wish I owned one so I can fly up 30k ft high, randomly press buttons and shit and switching off the engine without any risk of dying or any negative impacts, with full realism of what would happen to the plane.
@pilotanthony good point - we should have said in the video that if people have flown internationally a few times, there's a high chance they've flowing in a 747 or an A380.
@AusBusinessTraveller its actually because this models are good in long range,just to add b777 is good for long haul too.althought the 747 wil have a stopover to refuel if its going long range unlike the A380
@pilotanthony i never flew in a 747 or a380 :(( only 737-300/400/500 series, A320's one B777 or A330 ( but i cannot remember cuz i was so young) and A321's
Yeah ok. You can stop letting us know he's an Australian bussiness traveller editor

Maybe Quantus can spend less money on simulation machines and more money on maintenance of airplanes and prevent planes from breaking apart.

I'd say everyone who's travelled by plane has more than likely travelled on a Boeing 737 or Airbus A320.

Can traffic be programmed into the sim? Traffic at the airport, in the air, just something to add more realism and congestion?

The difference is QF want to CHARGE their pilots to use a sim. CX, BA etc don't. They realise that good pilots = safe airline.
Go somewhere else Alan Joyce - Qantas is Australian, your not!

miguelsaez340 5 months ago
@miguelsaez340 Without passengers they can fly up to 28 hours on a 744er
qantas8888 5 months ago
what software do they use for the simulator?
marlo1204 5 months ago
@marlo1204 It depends on who built the sim. Thales, etc. Each sim provider uses their own software.
