  • I always knew chimps were smarter than us. This proves it. I say we grant them civil liberties.

  • did monkeys make that machine? no

  • By the way, if anyone from lumosity is reading this, I am still waiting for my treats.

  • @defranx

Do i have to pay to join lumosity

  • @The3nlightened0ne

No, but I got there via a link. I think maybe it was from a site called "10 top websites for brain training", you can just google or bing it.

  • @The3nlightened0ne After 3 days yes

  • @edubchrist :(

  • I tried this game at lumosity site. I got eight of ten correct - same as the chimps average. WOOHOOOO! I'M AS SMART AS A CHIMP! I only got the first two attempts wrong though, and some adaptation time is expected when performing a new task. Guess I would recover pretty quick if i fell out of a tree.

  • It's funny what you can accomplish when getting fed depends on whether you get it right or not. ANY HUMAN could be as efficient if it was the only way you got to eat!! Inhumane!

  • NO YOU!!

  • Chimp beats human in memory task? That human has to be George W. Bush.

  • Chimps require more efficient short term spatial memory since they have to live in and climb trees. A person falling out of a tree would not recover as quickly, in fact, it is not likely that they would recover at all. f'ng trolls

  • apparently we use only 3% or 4% of our brain. and that someone called Karl Marks (not sure how to spell his name) actually used 9% which is, like, the record. he did amazing stuff with it

  • Marx was his name. He was a strong influence on communism though, so there are many different views on his ideas.

  • stop perpetuating this "we only use #% of our brain" urban myth! let it die ffs.

  • You are, who you think you are.

  • 0_0

  • imagine the capibilitese if we used 100% of are brain we could cure all these cancers

  • Bear in mind that we as humans only use about 10% of our brains...

  • That is such a stupid thing to say that I really think you do use 10 % of your brain :P

  • look it up, douchebag.

  • man.... you really don't know where you are talking about...we use 100 % of our brain

  • you know what? You're either a nerd or a kid with nothing better to do on youtube than argue on the internet... I'm done wasting my time with you. My mother's a psychologist, my dad is a scientist who was once an E.R. Doctor. I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, DICKWAD.

  • Owke if you're done wasting youre time, I want to have the last word. You are some frustated freak and what you are saying just isn't right. :)

  • I think that you use 1 % of your brain

  • ow ...and you really know my mom xD. face it man...you are the one who talks shit here

  • Thought you were done wasting your time with me...dickhead... because you're wrong you're starting to talk about other things, loser.

  • And again you are talking shit :)

  • That 10 % is just a MYTH and your parents and you probably believe in it

  • Sorry dude laurens's is right, although we may not use all of our brain at the same time our entire brain is continually active 24/7, even while sleeping

  • That's what I'm trying to say!

It's active, but we don't USE a lot of it. If only we knew how to use all of it at once... We'd probably have a lot more potential.

Laurens890 is just being a motherfucking bitch goddess, and she started shit out of the blue! Never had any contact with her before this!

I'd like to see her mouth off to somebody In Chicago Heights like that! They'd beat ANYBODY shitless, guy or girl! (That's kinda why I moved away from there lol.)

  • phamterry, a chimpanzee is an ape, not a monkey. This chimp surprised me. I couldn't have done near as well as he did. This evidence for chimpanzee intelligence adds to the growing mountain of evidence for evolution. The creationists think humans are a big deal and were selected for special treatment by the invisible man in the clouds. If we are a big deal, why does this chimp have a better memory than we do?

  • "why does this chimp have a better memory than we do?"

It could be because we evolved language, so somehow lost this ability, or didn't need it any more - if indeed we ever had it. Maybe someone could shed some light on this? I find it really interesting.

  • juliangibson, I googled "Chimps beat humans in memory test" and found this: "These studies tell us that elaborate short-term memory skills may have had a much more salient function in early humans than is present in modern humans, perhaps due to our increasing reliance on language-based memory skills."

  • Cheers, that's what I thought. Where would we be without Google, eh?

I just wonder whether chimps will begin to talk - for instance if they started to move out of the jungle as early humans did -maybe one day they'll even be opening little chimp Starbucks and McDonalds! Now there's evolution for you...

  • God give monkey good memory becuase without it they can get lost in the jungle. If you were in the jungle and there is no trail, good memory keep them from getting lost. If you ever went into the deep jungle and can not see more than two feets away, good memory can be very useful. Also many monkeys must be fast with reaction time becuase when you swing from one branch to the other, it best to know the exact location of those branchs. newlyfacesdotcom

  • Obviously evolution needs you to evolve to have proper grammar. Anyways, proof to all you creationism weirdos out there, here's more proof of evolution.

  • Smarter than them alright...

  • I used to compare George W Bush to a chimp, I take it all back..chimpanzees are WAY smarter than politicians!
