  • Amazing voice by the gordita.

  • There is a version of this song by Ann and Wynonna, the best ever

  • @DRaiders4 That's true--I watch it a lot.

  • Tho i do love this version toooo!!!

  • Cher's version is best and she sang it before Nazareth!!!!

  • Yes love hurts. The man who was the love of my life screwed me over. Something that i would have never thought that he would do to me . Call me a fool.

    LOVE HURTS........

  • I didn't think I would like this version of the song, but I should have known better. It is impossible for Ann Wilson to fuck up a song.

  • I seen them back in december of the last and let me say, they sound better then ever!

I screamed "I LOVE YOU ANN" and she looked at me and smiled. Amazing day! I've listened to them for all of my 15 years of life. (:

  • she has the perfect voice for this song

  • she sings with so much power and soul

  • Are they still performing? Heart, I mean...

  • @jeepjeeplady , Oh yes...very definitely:-)

  • They finished a tour just a couple months ago and they rocked the house

  • @jeepjeeplady you bet - they tour every year and just put a new album out.

  • @jeepjeeplady Yup, they are finally coming back to the frozen wasteland of Saskatchewan Canada on Feb 18th!Should have seen them back in '85 but better late than never.

  • @jeepjeeplady I saw them like a month ago. So awesome! Live I can't even explain how good they sound. Even with Ann being 60 and Nancy being 58 lol such a good concert

  • @jeepjeeplady

Currently on tour this summer with Def Leppard.

  • @jeepjeeplady Yes. On tour now actually.

  • @jeepjeeplady Sorry...you must be destroyed.

  • Love hurts love hurts some fools rave of happiness Blissfulness togetherness some fools fool themselves I guess But they're not fooling me I know it isn't true No it isn't ture. Love is just a lie made to make you blue. Love hurts love hurts. Love hurts love scares love wounds and mares any heart
  • Love hurts love scares love wounds and mares any heart Not tough nor strong enough to take a lot of pain Take a lot of pain love is like a cloud holds a lot of rain. Love hurts love hurts I'm young I know but even so I know a thing or two I've learned from you I've really learned a lot really learned a lot. Love is like a stove burns you when it's hot
  • I`m a big fan of Heart and Ann does well, but I have listened to so many covers of this song and still think Nazareth and Dan Mc Cafferty do it most justice, it takes a man to sing this song IMO.

  • To S this is for You. C

  • Ann Wilson is tremendous. She has the ability to deliver a nuanced vocals, think Dreamboat Annie, ballads like Love Hurts and flat-out rockers like Barracuda or Led Zep covers. A real gem.

  • The best voice I have now.

  • WAUW!

  • Absolutely awesome vocal. Wow!!!!!

  • i totally rather joan's cover ! it's much better ..

  • you are a very good singer and i love that can you be my friend on facebook? jayjayskie006006@yahoo.com

  • epic

  • Wow! Ann Wilson just kicks ass! What a voice. I love watching Nancy play guitar. What a gift these sisters of the Northwest have been. Rock on!

  • Ann Wilson's voice is amazing. It's too bad nobody sings like her anymore.

  • the eternal stoner

  • she has a very strong voice. i like her cause she's really unique.

  • why would anyone put the Nazareth version on this. they r out of their minds

  • Interesting that Nancy mentions Roy Orbison...

..and then they do the Nazareth version. :)

  • I think I like it better then nazareth.........sorry!

  • Even for a woman, very hard song to sing. Much harder playing guitar, and specially LIVE. And she did a superb job. Each time I discover a new Ann Wilson performance, she never ceases to amaze me. My favourite female rock singer by far.

  • all she's doing is "singing" her ass off, love ty and emmylous version, but wimpy when compared to anns , they wish they could "sing" like ann, all she's doing, my ass...

  • I kicked up a shitstorm with Heart's record company when they wouldn't let me appear in the video for 'All I Wanna Do'. I thought it would make more interesting viewing on MTV if Ann and I acted out the song instead of a 'male model' and a sulky-looking poor man's Susanna Hoffs, but the men in suits said no.

  • what happend to denny and mark ?

  • @babyj1996, Denny and Mark -- to put it kindly--were let go from the band after the Rock the House Live! Album, I do believe...around that time period, anyway.

  • @tabistevens what do you mean to put it kindly ? what happend ? i know mark fooled around with ann

  • @alexmonger11 , on Behind the Music, rock journalist Carla DeSantis Black said that some of the guys in the band blamed Ann's weight for their failing success in the '90s--implying that was Denny and Mark because they were let out of the band. Ann said something to the effect that they were saving themselves rather than the band when Nancy and she made the decision....and, yes, Mark has talked about his flirtations with Ann.

  • @tabistevens how sad the way Ann was treated about her weight ! the woman is stunning ! tired of people saying she was fat !!!!!!!!!!! she is beautiful ! and where did you read about ann and mark's fling ?

  • @tabistevens no shit ? what did mark say ?

  • @tabistevens flirtations , you mean his fling ? can u blame him ? Ann is sexy !!

  • @rvcrvc2 I've been reading Heart In The Studio by Jake Brown, which gives a detailed account of the recordings of Heart. Every producer who worked with the band has said that Ann's perfect vocals really spoiled them for other performers. Mike Flicker said that he has never worked with anybody who had a voice like Ms. Wilson's.

  • @tabistevens I'm reading that book right now.

You're right...every producer they interview can't stop raving about Ann's voice.

  • @rvcrvc2 Ann Wilson is definitely one of the top female vocalist of all time--especially in the rock genre. Gram and Emmylou are great at what they do--and I love her high soprano, but they are two very different styles.

  • @tabistevens Your point about different stiles is so well & fairly made, tabistevens. I guess that is what I meant, more that I preferred Gram & Emmylou's softer & more delicate approach. I hope supernews & because commenters, see this response, as well.

  • @rvcrvc2 I see your response. But, just because you prefer a "softer" (whatever that means) version doesn't mean she is yelling. I accept your apology.

  • @rvcrvc2 If all Ann Wilson is doing is yelling out loud without emotion, shit, how good would she sound if she was actually singing? I think you might need to clean the wax out of your ears! She is a once in a lifetime phenomenon

  • @rvcrvc2

LOL, that's insane. She's incredible. This is so pure and lovely.

  • @rvcrvc2 ... oh come on man, look at her facial expressions while she sings, the shape of her eyes, that move with her right fist at 1:14. One could say it might be acting, but i don't believe it, it looks to me she's singing from her heart with a bunch of emotional input.

  • @rvcrvc2 Oh man, where to start? Yelling? Really? Maybe you should turn your speakers down. As for Ann Wilson not singing with any emotion ever: well, that's like your opinion, man.

  • Love Does Hurt

  • I would never hurt you Ann... just love you.

ahem... I guess its safe to say I like Ann Wilson.

  • muy bueno, pero me kedo con nazareth

  • Love it!!!Love Her!!

  • Wow!! I had the pleasure of hearing Ann sing this live a few years back-awesome! the "Goddess of Rock"-everyone! the best!

  • Great voice.

  • In an alternative universe I married Ann Wilson in 1981 and our marriage was on the cover of Rolling Stone. I had the number one album on both sides of the Atlantic at the time and had just sold out Shea Stadium. My life kicked arse back then...it's been downhill ever since.

  • @LeeJTurnock: Darling, all you need is a good women to love you and a plate of roast beef and mashed potatoes with gravy over the whole mess.

  • LOL! Maybe it happened in a parallel universe. I would be content just seeing Heart kick it in concert circa 1976-81.

  • @LeeJTurnock JAJAJAJ that's cute!

And in an alternative universe i can sing like her :(

They're amazing!!!!!! and like i said before, lots of nowadays so called "artists" should watch HEART videos and learn how to SING LIVE! Specially the ladies...

  • I'm glad I made a few people chuckle with my comment anyway. Incidentally, it wasn't a white wedding, the bride and groom wore black velvet suits with a wine-coloured blouse for Ann and a Who Maximum R&B t-shirt for yours truly. The best man was the guy who played David St Hubbins in This Is Spinal Tap and the wedding reception band were Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

  • Well...how do you compare to that?

  • @LeeJTurnock What was her monthly grocery bill?

  • @LeeJTurnock Then Nazareth come kick your arse into reality HOW this song should be performed..

  • @LeeJTurnock : Don't lie, dude. You were just the barman on the cruise ship where we spent our honeymoon. And it was 1982. I remember the date on Rolling Stone's cover...

    Friggin' liars.....

  • And playing the guitar at the same time!

  • Amazing vocals! She's so accurate and emotional. That's singing on a high note!

  • Ms Wilson, you are squeezing out of

your vocal cords every drop of

passion we could ever hope for...

  • It's pure Gold, isn't it?

  • sweet fuzzybuddy - "check"

  • Over the top version of the Everly original. On playlist: People Love to Sing Everly Songs. 5 *****!! Thanks for posting!!

  • ann, has the most awesome voice there is, original is fantastic ,but this one has more life and far better..there will no more ann and never will be....ann ...the besttttttttttttt.

  • Love hurts...for sure!! I have had my share. Maybe one day it wont hurt anymore :+)

  • I checked out the other artist's versions and I really think Miss Ann takes it off the chart for raw emotion... Yes, I guess alot like Nazareth, but what other woman puts out feeling like Ann Wilson?

  • Roy Orbison is the best i have heard at this.

  • She should not have given credit to Roy Orbison when in fact she totally covered NAZERETH`s version. Nothing against Roy`s version, it`s beautiful. NAZERETH rocks!!! That`s why she covered their version.

  • Wow. Great cover.

  • What that guy said.......I think.

  • meest mooie emotie in deze versie

  • BALLS OUT THE BEST!!!!!

  • love their blending

  • ja ja ja ja estan en Viña del mar... yo estube ahy!!

  • THis is good, but seems to follow Nazareth for belting and grit. For the sweetness, I tend to prefer Gram Parsons with Emmylou Harris.

  • This is a good cover of the Everly Brothers' classic. For a real treat though, check out the brothers' original version recorded in 1960.

  • A very good version of a great song. Does anyone know if Heart ever recorded it or did they only do it live? Thanx for posting it.

  • ann wilson did this on her solo cd ...check it out...so many good songs on there and of course...her voice ; )

  • Heart did a live version of this on their CD The Road Home. As far as I know, Ann didn't include this on Hope and Glory--her solo CD.

  • best version of this song go ann

  • wow she can belt it out. she is way under rated

  • LET'S ALL GO EAT GIRLS

  • @thundafiya Yeah, and then you try singing the song.

  • I wish I could come up with something to say about Ann's voice but it's simply too amazing to put into words

  • Sure doesn't sound like the Roy Orbison version in the early 60s. On the other hand, Ann and Nancy are still smokin hot.

  • Holy crap!!! Ann just crushes this song. Anyone who's never seen Heart live is really missing out on something special. Ann will be 60 in June, so they're touring days may be fewer and farther between.

  • I love you Ann & Nancy!

  • One of the best renditions! Yes, I think Ann is amazing, too! Good voice for this song. At the same time, I like other versions also....Roy Orbison's was pretty, Emmylou and Gram's was pretty, and Nazereth's is awesome. >>I guess I'd say thats my fave, and Heart a close 2nd!

  • It hurts not to love also.

  • Ann you rule girl!!! I love your beautiful voice!!! I would listen to you all my life.

  • This is amazing. Ann Wilson is worthy of worship. She is without peer.

  • Simply Amazing!!!

  • Jejej!!, como deimos aca en Argentina, que "Temazooo"!!, y mas con esa voz potente de Ann Willson, seee!!!Ojala viniesen aqui!no me las perderia por nada del mundo

  • What a voice! WOW!!! Talk about power and emotion in a song, this is it.

  • paulbeatles201 - Nazareth did it in 1975. The Everly Brothers did it in 1960, Roy did it in 1961. Nazareth did change one of the lines though.

  • Thanks for clearing it up, forcerecon. :-)

I just saw Heart in Houston last week....the ladies were amazing, and Ann's voice was in fine form. It was mostly a rockin' set...with a few ballads, and they didn't cover "Love Hurts."

  • I like the haunting vocals of the hit by Nazareth, but Ann Wilson gives her all and it's awesome.

  • To hear the absolute best cover of this song, listen to the Gram Parsons and (young) Emmylou Harris duet.

  • this might not be a nazareth song according to all the stupid comments I got but they kicked ass.

  • Is love a lie? Almost always-- because it lacks one or more of the requisite elements, 100% honesty, openness, vulnerability, and implicit trust. If you have such a love cherish it-- it is rare and beautiful. If you don't, do what you need to do to make it so, and an amazing world will unfold before your eyes. If your "love" lacks these elements, you are missing out on a lot, the foremost of which is true love.

  • Good version, I tend to think Joan Jett does the better cover.

  • that is a good one, but this one is my favorite

  • nazareth did this song origianly not orbison or the everly brothers

  • Everly Brothers recorded it in 1960 on an album.

Orbison released it in 1961 as a "B" side to

    "Running Scared"

  • LOL You know the results (yes, the Everlys were first, then Roy...however Nazareth has the definitive rendition. As much as I love the others, Nazareth's is the best known and frankly, the best.

  • TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Unbelievable, easily the best rendition of this classic

  • What a beautiful song from a beautiful woman. she has such a powerful voice she can bring a tear to your eyes. thanks so much for posting, and keep on rockin' Heart.

  • I think The Everly Brothers did this originaly, not Orbison

  • What a wonderfully powerful voice. Thanks, Ann!

  • awesome song best veersion in my book

  • kick ass ! man thatll give ya chills

  • she has a great voice. I love how she did this one. But then again I have NEVER hear anything she san that even came close to disapointing me. Way to Go Ann.

  • its roy orbison

  • she have big balls !!!!!! sounds good !!!

  • amazing voice!!!!!

  • Girl, If you love the same way you sing, you could take a man twice to heaven. This brings shivers down my spine!

  • This song is theirs.. Goofy Grape.

  • lol, this isnt their song...this song is very old

  • This song is original by Nazareth, one of the best bands ever.

  • ModeBass...Nazareth did NOT do the original version of this song...Jim Capaldi (ex-Traffic) did a version in the late 60's, Nazareth did their cover in the 70's!

  • Actually the original version of this song was by the Everly Brothers. The song was written for them by their song writing team, the Bryants. The song was subsequently covered by many artists including Orbison, Cher, Joan Jett, Nazareth and other less well known ones as well.

  • heart did this very good as well is this on cd or record

  • gotta love nazareth, but its by roy orbinson buddy

  • it's not. roy also covered the song like nazareth

  • No, this is not an original Nazareth song. It was originally by Roy Orbison, though Nazareth perhaps recorded the most well-known version.
