  • @pirate94: well I studied violin in Mexico when I was 4 years old. I'm guessing they just taught us differently over there. We play A LOT of banda music and in order to register into the 7th grade for additional music classes, we were expected to know at least grade C music

  • Hooooooly crap! She is good!

  • @choirgirl151 if you think she's just "alright" listen to her Laced album that was recorded when she was 17

  • As a violinist she's kind of alright. I bet half the people who are posting up saying how good she is probably don't even know the fact that this can be considered to be grade A or grade 1 music. In other words, elementary school music.

  • @ChoirGirl151 I've been playing for over ten years, so, while that doesn't make me anything more than amateur, I can definately say your assesment is way off. Grade 1 violin doesn't really even require shifting, or many other techniques which she is cleary using in this video. Her electric stuff was written to sound cool, not to show off ability. She's been playing since she was 4, she knows what she's doing. She left school at 10 to go to music schools. You don't get into those without talent.

  • @ChoirGirl151 Try searching some of her non-electric performances in which she is playing on a baroque violin with a baroque bow (which is a lot more difficult than regular violin). She effortlessly plays through some lovely movements of partitas by Bach. She is in no way at an elementary level. Her love of various styles of music and dress were the only things that stood in her way of becoming a world reknowned soloist.

  • If she likes girls, she's mine.

  • I love the tea set with the skull

  • Anybody else hear the heartbeat at 2:53?

  • oh my gosh. the intensity...I can't even..

  • @xeNduRaNcex I bet you could too! :)

  • @Sicvicious lol yeah, but it takes a while to get the hang of it. lol im a pianist not a violinist.

  • @xeNduRaNcex i'm a guitarist but I like to mess around with other instruments

  • crazy bitch thums down

  • Oh, Emilie, come live with me. We'll take tea, and paint pictures on the walls and you can play your violin while I fall into a coma of wonder.

  • The violin was made for HER!

  • God, awesome job on the filming and editing. It makes the experience all that much more enjoyable. I wish there were more videos made like this for EA. Thanks for sharing!

  • Comment removed

  • she makes that one violin sound like three different instruments............and its beautiful

  • LOL she's wearing earplugs :D

  • @sharpgirl57 actually i think those are small speaker things. most artists wear them so they can hear themselves singing over the noise of the show :P

  • DA FCK IF SHE PLAYING? SOUNDS LIKE AN OLD CASSETT...MY EARS!

    IM OUT MINUTE 2:50....

  • I WANT HER VIOLIN!

  • What if Emilie and Apocalyptica made a duet? Or perhaps they shouldn't... the overdose of string awesomness would probably kill us fans... :P

  • @xiomilolo I'd love to see Her and Sugizo do a duet! Heaven. One completely manic and the other utterly serene.

  • Bloody hell. There is no one in this world quite as wonderful as Emilie Autumn. She never ceases to amaze me. Ever. <3

  • I AM A VIRGIN

  • @SELFproclaimedVIRGIN Until you heard this song

  • @SELFproclaimedVIRGIN And after seeing this I bet that's changed,huh? I know happened to me too...It's ok though, I don't regret it.

  • @annegrullon you might not regret having sex because of how good it felt while doing it ....emily likes virgin guys like me..it is fun being a virgin right now...

  • @SELFproclaimedVIRGIN I was referring to listening to this song being similar to having sex because it was so amazing to listen to. Gotta love sarcasm....>.>

  • @SELFproclaimedVIRGIN I was too.. that is, until Emilie Autumn's music made sweet passionate love to my ears and soul.

  • @sakurasasuke1015 yes and she likes virgins guys like ME

  • @SELFproclaimedVIRGIN

    So what?

    You know,we dont give a fuck... o_o

  • @OnenaOo BUT I LOVE FEMALES AND HOW I FEEL WHEN I THINK OF HOW GOOD IT MIGHT BE ...TO HAVE SEX FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME..EMILIE..WAS A VIRGIN..BUT SHE LOST IT..NOT ME..I AM THE REAL 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN IN JULY

  • We played this song in orchestra and it was awesome I play viola so it wasn't as high pitched it was at a low octave but it still sounded cool

  • 27 people should be killed by an army of little girls

  • Yeah, this definitely is a riff on the Chaconne from Bach's Partita in D with other classical references thrown in. Wow. She's awesome.

  • Goddess!!!!!!!!

  • awesome emilie

  • one word : awesome !

  • She makes me wanna take up the violin again.

  • @Crappuccinogirl

That's the spirit ;) if you weren't sure violin is amazing: listen to David Garret's version of kashmir.

    now you are.

  • Damn she can play.

  • at 3:45 I tought she would start playing Iron Maiden - Number of the beast :D Go girl !

  • It's definitely that Bach piece. It doesn't sound like La Folia. Which is why when people said it was La Folia I didn't exactly hear it. Sounds more like Bach.

  • @TheIndustrialClef Yeah I think the intro is Partitia in D or something and then it is very bach influenced. Then some celtic of course. But I can see where Corellia could come in, the first part where Face The Wall starts is VERY much like La Folia. I mean incredibly so. I have sheet music for both of the pieces.

  • @xViolinxManiacx78x I think there is something that differs like a change of notes in terms of fingering and the timing as such.

  • She is so talented. I had a dream that I picked up the electric violin and played this piece. It's such a beautiful piece and that intro is just as brilliant.

  • Comment removed

  • I here some La Folia in there.

  • So... Amazing

  • Cool violin. Sorry. Had to mention that.

  • There are always the twats that scream.

  • Talent

  • i love it

  • Ah shhit. 3:45. Jizzed in my pants...

  • She is gorgeous with such great talent!

  • Comment removed

  • THAT WAS AMAAAAAAAAZZZZZZIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGG!!!!!!!! FREAKING GAVE ME CHILLS!!!!!

  • strange how she has to dress upp in silly clothes. she doesn't havve to to get atention. unlike lady gaga she acctually posseses great talen!

  • @myroribrallan95 oh silly person.... it's not that she is just simply dressing up in "silly clothes" it is that she has her style of VICTORIANindustrial. so.... yeah that's WHY she dresses that way. plus... it's kind of awesome

  • @xViolinxManiacx78x you think i'm silly because i think herk clothes look silly? ok. what is "VICTORIANindustrual" anyway? what do you mean by "she has her style"? there isn't any practical reason for her dressing up that way is their?

  • @myroribrallan95 Basically she studied victorian era and is kinda saying how it sucked if you were a girl. she has this book based in an asylum from the 1800's and she created victorianindustrial music, which is why she dresses the way she does. That's what i mean by that's her style. and i just kinda say oh silly person... ask any of my friends I'M NOT KIDDING LOL

  • @myroribrallan95 It's a costume, and like all costumes, It's designed to reflect the character and atmosphere and the show or whatever. She created the look from scratch to fit with the stage show that she designed.

  • @myroribrallan95

Both EA and LG are talented women in their own unique ways.

  • It's amazing the talent she has and the emotion she can portray through her playing. She's not insane. She's not wierd. She's an ARTIST.

  • anyone notice at 2:34 that she's wearing a spoon around her neck?

  • The beggining is bach partita 2. she used it as an intro to face the wall for a period of time. the intro of face the wall is similar to la folia, and the entire piece is seemingly inspired by it, but it is not the same. look up the notes to both songs and you'll see.

  • That was.... Beautifull!

  • told u all it was la folia and @jellyts I actually play so think before u talk

  • .....

    no words.

  • Asexual y violinista :D yeeeeeeeaaaaaah!!!!! toca geneal xD

The intro is La Folia though, I admit it!

  • Is.. Is she wearing a spoon necklace? xD I want one!

  • son putos a los 21 que nos les gusto

  • she copied correlli's La Folia and J.S. Bach's partita it's not some new music she made it's been around for centuries

  • LA FOLIA!!!

  • one of her best songs: Face the wall <3

  • this is La folia

  • @strathallanguy Actually, it's Face the Wall.

  • @xXxIMDEATHxXx uuuuuuuh NO

  • @xXxIMDEATHxXx search la folia and maybe listen...

  • Comment removed

  • @strathallanguy Well, now I doubt that you're an Emilie Autumn fan...

  • @strathallanguy Search, Face The Wall.

  • @xXxIMDEATHxXx this is certainly not face the wall.

  • @wolfboii999 I would accept that, if you're a Plague Rat that surpasses my time of being a Plague Rat.

  • @xXxIMDEATHxXx it's not about you accepting it or not accepting it, or who came into Emilie Autumn's art first... it simply isn't Face the Wall. listen to the two, they sound nothing alike. for starters, Face the Wall starts off with a high pitched glissando...

  • @wolfboii999 You do not seem to understand. If you did in fact listen to the full song you might. But this is pointless.

  • The horse who lost it's hair to become the bow's strings became a pegasus for it's great donation.

    o.o

  • @xalthox

Not all violin bows are made from horse hair. A good number now use synthetic strings. Plus Emilie Autumn is a vegan.

  • @Bluebelle9289 coolstorybro

  • and cue the dead rising from their graves

  • I LOVE EMILIE AUTUMN AND IM 13 !!!! but i dont remember what song this is :/

  • @GOTHICxWHITExROSE I love her too! ^_^ The song is Face The Wall

  • I HAVE THAT TEASPOON. THE TEASPOON AROUND HER NECK, I HAVE THE EXACT SAME ONE!!!

  • She is an Amazing Violinist.. She surpasses me, My instructor and every other Violinist i have ever met...

  • I LOVE U EMILIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love love this.. if you listen carefully you can identify her influences coming from vivaldi, beethoven even corelli. she's amazing.. she's the violin goddess ♥

  • mad skillz right there :^O

  • she is dangerously gooooooood

  • OH MY GOD. MY SOUL HAS JUST BEEN MADE COMPLETE.

  • Emilie learned violin from age 4...she is a history buff from america on the Victorian n Elizabethan era's in England... she dresses so much from those eras & said every film today can be traced back to Shakespeare, and how life was for females in institiutions in those times is pretty much the same today in society & how the industrial revolution changed so much for us too... she rebelled against the way her teachers wanted her to play music n against her individual style, which she embraces.

  • One word. AMAZING!

  • her amazing violin skills make me jelous but her beutiful sounds make me cry

  • Wow, she is REALLY talented. I wish I could play the violin as confidently as her! She's playing that instrument like a fuckin' guitar! I hope people now start loving the violin more than the normal instruments. I would like to see her do some crazy Classical stuff too!

  • Wow, she is talented! Like, duh... I wish I could play a violin as confidently as she did.

  • SHE HAS FUCKING SKILLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Tinuviel11 yes, someone who finally understands. This is just a mess. I've tried being openminded about this, but as a violinist myself, I can't help but cringe at this.

  • Comment removed

  • @ViolinLover234 why so?

I'm not a violinist soo i'm just curious to why you think it's a mess.. personally i like how it sounds

  • @ViolinLover234 a mess a goddamn mess? what kind of world does your idiotic birdbrain preppy ass self live in? this is not a mess your face and your violin skills probably are so you feel the need to mess with one of the BEST violinist' in this huge ass world! Emilie is my idol, she is gorgeous and deadly amazing! you are a mess my dear, not her or her music! have a wonderful day!

  • I saw her live last week, I was really concentrated on her songs that I didn't notice what I was doing.

I couldn't help screaming, SHE WAS EIGHT FEET AWAY FROM ME!!!

  • she made that violin her bitch

  • I think I just fell in love

  • I can only imagine how mind blowing this would be live.

  • I showed this to my violin teacher, now he loves her :D

  • Her technique is sooo impressive! I envy her total ease in executing this. :O

  • fantastic

  • I'm still waiting for that violin to burst into flames... O_O <3

  • @KlaudiaNomi hjgbfmhsksmdvugdgsgbsdcbitch

  • Comment removed

  • @KlaudiaNomi EA + Apocalyptica + Dethklok. Every instrument in the room would be on fire. And Brendan Small would be breathing flames as well. Can you imagine....

  • I love her eye makeup. I think I just seriously fell in love with her during this video.

  • wow.... now that is a true artist

  • I showed this to my four-year-old daughter, who just received a pink violin as a gift from her grandfather. She was totally blown away and when the video ended, she said to me, "I want to be a rockstar with my violin, too."

  • she is art

  • Personally, i'd like to see her do a song along with Apocalyptica..

  • @DeadRiser1 Yes, please! Then shove a knife in my heart, because I would die happy.

  • Look at them fingers go! Like a fucking NINJA!

  • wow

  • wow

  • "No flat E-strings for you ~ only the best!!" Love Emilie! Amazing violin solo!

  • @Tinuviel11 Before bashing someone and comparing them to someone with no talent, try looking them up first. You may be surprised at how good they really are, or more importantly, how long this someone has actually been around.

  • @Tinuviel11 she is a hell of lot better than you could ever be, she has been through a lot(like many)Dont talk, unless you are an artist yourself, who writes music thats actually not identical to the 400 million rock/metal/jazz bands out there, some are GREAT yes, but they can consist of the same process. People who a judge so harshly are bad enough to want shave their eyelashes and head with a dull jagged razor blade. Deluded fool. you insult people, you have it coming back. Just know this.

  • @Tinuviel11 oh yes, and about the fashion. Back in the early 1900's and earlier, men would have been saying the same thing about women waring pants, or any of the "simple" clothing we wear nowadays. Its just clothes, you dont need to like it of course, but jsut get over it. Appearance is silly altogether. Another way to put it, is some people dress however they want without caring what society says anymore. Because apparently we are all clones lol

  • The most metal violin.

  • Some one should kick the WOOing girls in the throat!!! -__-

  • Why did people have to scream? :/ it totally ruined this great piece :/

  • @mrspacman0dontripit because she made that violin her bitch
