@riolindasucks What do you think of the handful of states where the "top of the doghouse" (the red light) is positioned directly over the solid yellow and green as opposed to in between?
@msk578 Australia and New Zealand stoplights with arrows are like that. Most have the right turn arrows (red, yellow, green) next to the ahead signals like the doghouse config. Arizona is the only state that uses both the dog house for 5 lens lights as well as the five high single column. To me the off-set red is weird. Also, I hate lights mounted on mast wires, it looks cheap. Michigan still uses the old mast wire 4-way lights that were outdated 50 years ago.
@riolindasucks I'm in Colorado (Denver metro area) and it's a large mix of both doghouse and offset red for the left turn (probably mostly offset red is used). We do have the five-high single column, but those are only mounted on the vertical poles and not the horizontal poles over the street.
I only know of 2-3 other states where it is very common to see "offset red" (as opposed to doghouse) as part of the regular set up (Wyoming and Tennessee both come to mind first).

The doghouse config looks weird. I like the IL, IA, SD, MN, AR, AZ five high stack for lights with turn arrows.
