Due to the high costs in batteries, I have given thought to having a slave motor or gas generator similar the system GM plans on using also. Most likely on a PU truck in a tool box bin?
The motor noise, it would seem, would also be cut down by insulating the engine compartment or similar. There's also noise canceling systems that might help.
Driving animals crazy and into the road in front you needs to be minimized. One EV motorcycle also uses a gas engine recordinging. :Q
Any idea of horsepower, top speed, and voltage/amps drawn at 55/65 speed? Sounds like a vacuum pump for the vacuum accessories - a must if you want the original accessories to work.
Imagine that noise driving the animals crazy and into the road in front of you. Sounds like a squeeky screen door.
What kind of car is that? an oldsmobile Alero now and E-lero? or an E-scort?

@aleon1018 That's just low speed controller whine. Once up above 5 or 10 mph, that cuts out.

I can't believe it. That is exactly the car I want to convert to electric. Can you get your neighbor to post some greater detail on the ZX2?
