I've been looking for this version for a while, even if it's only partial. This is the Sessions at W 54th show. This whole thing was great. It was cool to listen to Lanois talk about wanting to bring "quality" to this solo. He didn't play on the whole thing, but he sure did on this tune.
Thanks for the info. :) I was interested as I'm a bass player. I hadn't recognized him and now I saw that Daryl is Daniel's main bassist on 'For the Beauty...', 'Shine' and 'Belladonna'. On a tiny photo of the 'Shine' CD I saw him even play a Hofner Beatle bass!

great performance, esp. Daniel on his goldtop. Only a pity, that it's so short, only the last verse of Emmylou's song. BTW, who plays bass here?

Well Buddy Miller is on the second guitar and on bass it's Daniel Lanois' Friend: Daryl JOHNSON...
