Beautifully artistic scenes, camera angle and rotation is reminiscent of a genius director. Scenes take a nice slow pace soaking in the details. Solid quality of background (planet/nebula). Awesome new-style jump-point if you made it yourself. Beautiful use of music. And I am filled with happiness to see my baby in action like that. The firing sequence was very impressive. Just excellent. I know lots of B5 fans out there would love to see this Warlock v. Sharlin battle.
Thanks, its an old video now and I have advanced in 3D quite a bit and reconfirmed some technical information (like G.O.D. canon color). There was a joint idea about doing a similar project but it failed coz it was jus a hoby that drains time =]. Anyways maybe more in the future.
Definitely this hobby drains LOTS of time. But its so much fun! I take year-long breaks. In case you continue, I can offer some CC: Resolution is too low, compression too high, can't clearly see your beautiful work. Camera movement (around 2:03 & 3:24) is awkward, try parenting camera to nulls and using camera to rotate, and the null to move. That way you won't have awkward camera way-points. Too dark around 3:16, try doing test-renders of every 15th frame before rendering out the entire scene.
I refuse to criticize something like this when there is absolutely no way I could make something like this myself. It was one very good job for a CGI expert as yourself and a B5 fan.
Sweet job! Just one wish, though: I know it's space and everything, but could you shed a little more light on things, so it's easier to follow what's going on? Otherwise, it was very well done.
The Star Trek shuttle is just a shuttle I wanted something different then a usual shuttle (maybe ships we see in B5 do not represent the entire EA fleet). Ye and about the battle, I did allot of reading (official B5 stories not fan art text) and there was a description about Warlock encountering Sharlin, so I came up to this scenario which is fast because battles in reality and B5 are fast, its not like in most of SCI-FI shows when multiple shields have to be penetrated to scratch a surface.
stresletha incident or something like that i think this battle depicting. in that incident a warlock able to combat and destroy a sharlin. the pulse canon luckily damage the grav drive of the sharlin so that the G.O.D canon of the warlock to do the job.
it does not mean a warlock always win, but unlike previous warship, a warlock have a chance to win a sharlin thus to point that warlock is quite impressive vessel.
Loved it!! Just saw Call to Arms recently ... and I gotta say, those Warlocks can really move when they have to! Warlocks KICK ASS!! Death to the Warrior caste!
Can you imagine a fleet of Omega Class Destroyers and Warlock Class starships going toe to toe with the shadow vessels or the Minbari Fleet? That would be an awesome fight.
Haha, awesome! The opening scene was very peaceful :) Federation shuttle in the beginning was funny (and confusing) :p Explosions were good. Avoid rotating and moving camera at same time. Reduce ambient light to almost 0 and instead add 2-3 separate distant lights without shadows, and all your objects will look much better. Very nice, its the new jump point! Did you make that yourself? haha siege tank sounds!
Yes, the acceleration is unusual for EA ships =], but If you read the info about Warlock war ship, you will notice that its acceleration is the same like of a star furry, so I tried to portray it here.
Very nice. The speeds and accelerations were a little fast at some points... but the turning and firing of the turrets was not only good... but comical.
They all just started moving. I don't know why I found it funny, but I did.
Sharlin wouldnt be defeated by a Warlock....

I'd like to see maybe an Omerga-class Destroyer taking on enemy. Got a soft spot for those EA warships.
