this might be a good way for me to improve my shading technique by just drawing something from a scribble when you dont have to think about highlights and proportions

See, I can think of things to draw, especially while playing "scribble", but I can never use "fillers" or what would you call them... like textures. How do you come up with those fillers? I can never think of things to fill in the blank spaces...
@Gangstopper Hey i draw around16 hours a week a good tip is to avoid plain lines try to make transitions instead. Nothing is made out of plane lines therefore a drawing made out of lines can never look 100% reel.
i notice when i take notes i always start scribbling on the side of my page then i make stuff from the scribbles, but ive never really drawn that much stuff in my life
xDDDD I love doing this at school, where someone will draw a scribble and I make abstract art out of it. (Not as good as this though) Good to see that I'm not the only person with this sort of idea c:
I don't get it...I thought you were drawing Darth Vader...wouldn't it be easier to just watch some clouds passing by...look, it's a puffy pillow, no, now it has legs, wait, is that a face...O_o...oh look at the time, I guess I'll have to get to WORK now. ;)
If I can draw abstract and have it turn out something as good as this, Id never draw from a reference ever again. I always feel I need a reference to draw something or it wont turn out how I want it. So this might be harder for me to master since all I ever did was draw off another drawing or picture.
THIS IS REALLY AMAZING.....WOULD YOU CONSIDER DOING A VIDEO ON HOW AND WHERE TO PLACE SHADING TO GIVE ABSTRACT SHAPES DEPTH, OR PROTRUDED LOOKS ETC... THANKS
Me and you draw in similar methods.. The ability to break a image up more and more complex, while maintaining proper contrast. How did you get that viewing angle? Sweet, btw!! ~~Tom
@TheBroodingTom I got that viewing angle by having my camera at a further than 90° angle looking down and then slightly to the left. It was the only angle that looked decent whereby my hand wasn't blocking the drawing a majority of the time.
i draw just like this man. been looking for something like this. i just start with come kind of a curve and i keep adding curves, and spirals or whatever comes to mind. i sorta just move my hand and let my mind take over. its like im going for a ride, and im curious to see what comes out of it. then i have alot of fun to try and find out what it sorta looks like =D. and i use a mechanichal pencil 2!! lolzz,
how do you manage to do shades with a mechanical pencil?? i never did. it only helps me with the outline cause it can be erased easily. anyway. nice technique i'll try it too.
This may sound like a weird question but I'm going to ask it anyway. What brand of mechanical pencil do you use and what lead grade of lead do you use?(ie: 2B, B, HB, etc).
I don't know what it is about this drawing, but I am in LOVE with it!!! You are awesome dude and a huge inspiration. :) Thanks for sharing!!!

Can you tell me what I could use as a "texture"?
Gangstopper 1 month ago
@Gangstopper I just use random designs -with alot of traditional shading. The traditional shading is what gives an abstract drawing life.
