what were your exposure, aperture, and iso settings? I just got a new 7D but i'm having trouble getting my video to come out with good quality. in particular, my video has alot of noise which is due to my lack of knowledge about DSLR video shooting settings, so if you could tell me yours it would be a huge help! thanks
@csgskate iso is what will cause most noise. if you are in a bright place turn iso right low to like 100. you would only need iso to compensate for low light but the cmos sensors arent so good for it so it causes noise. longer shutter speed would help too.
Hi, was just wondering what compression you used for the upload of this video. I use compressor and and having trouble achieving the same quality. Another problem I'm getting with footage from this camera uploaded to youtube is a slight jitteryness and horizontal flickering lines occasionally.
What determines whether your background/subject is in focus is your aperture. and the larger your aperture is, the smaller the number. so 1.7 would be a huge aperture.

@bigredrobot26 200mm does the same thing and you can be farther away from the subject, i.e. skateboarding
