I'm new to velvet underground. i looked them up on wikipedia and discovered they are a 60's band. I never would have guessed. Way before their time. Some of this reminds of syd barrett. Well anyways can anyone recommend some songs to a new comer?
One of the best song ever, Nico was my idol, I'm 26 and I can't get her out of my head. Loud Reed and the Velvet Underground are probably the most influential band ever. I spent all my adolescence listening to their music, unbelievable, tremendous & emotional. Thank you Nico, thank you Lou Reed, you've changed completely the way I'm living my life.
In France, Nico is not very famous but thank's to youtube and wikipedia, I discovered her two years ago. Now I have seventeen and I can say Nico was my teenage idol. I think all my life, I will listenning and i will thinking about that angel/devil. She's very fascinating and become a mythic sixties personality. But I think she's more than that : she's the first idol of folk, gothic, rock and pop, all the influence of a lot of artists today.
I'm fucking sick of going to the comments of any song by any noted 60's pop or psychedelic band and reading comments like "one of the most influential bands of all time" or "such and overlooked gem, this song.." It doesn't matter if that song in realality happens to be complete shit, there's always some idiot, on ever song that something along those lines. Fuck off. Just say you personally like the song and move on, don't speak like everything is a "masterpiece."
@youarenowreadingthis I'm sick of your face. Your the one with the problems trying to enforce your own anger on other people and rob them of their opinions of the music they love. So with that in mind I conclude that you suck.
@relaxingmusic101 I must really have hit a nerve on you with my level headed thinking huh? You had to comment that I suck on my page too. Man are you sure you didn't burst out in tears upon finishing reading that little paragraph up there?
@relaxingmusic101 I'm ignorant because I'm tired of peoples overstatements? I see. I must have been ignorant to the true meaning of ignorance. Thanks for clearing that up.
fuck nico, the song performed by lou reed is (1;~) times better.

@tionaryfoo His? It's actually Nico singing. Who was a woman. A German woman with a very thick, deep accent at that.

"Beat this, Justin Bieber!" is what the real music lover society would say, followed by gazillions of thumbs up.

One of the most influential bands of all time.
And a song that has possibly been covered by more artists than any other song in the history of underground music.
Truly, this is underground music's classic track of all time.
Nico rules!
Thanks for the post.
