@screaminPirate The ending breaks your heart but it is truly one of the most beautiful stories told. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps. It is a film that you need to sit and digest for minutes even after the credits roll. Simply stunning. I strongly recommend.

I agree with GrainneMhaol, Briony didn't ruin her sister and Robbie, as well as her own life because she was jealous. She misunderstood what Robbie and Cecelia had going on and so she falsely accused him of being a sex maniac -- a rapist.
