REDUX and REDUX II are in many respects the end of the series. They wrap up the myriad of mysteries that define the narratives of THE X-FILES: the existence of extraterrestrial life, Scully's abduction and subsequent cancer, Mulder's long-missing sister, the institutioned conspiracy, and what Scully and Mulder come to mean to each other. Though these episodes begin season five, everything that came after drove the series and its characters and mythology in new directions.
