I, too, met wonderful Turks in Turkey & elsewhere, but the Turks have an atrocious history of slaughter, chauvinism and brutal conquests. They need to atone for these things, collectively, officially, before Europe accepts them as a member in the EU.

In this country Christians are being persecuted, even tortured and killed. The government isn't helping at all. Christians wanting to setup churches are confronted with opposition. There's about 5000 turkish Christians in a population of about 80 million. I've been in Turkey many times; the general understanding of what Christianity is, is wrong, and the difficulties Christians live in their own country are hard to bear. Pray for the turkish Christians.

If you walk along our biggest street"Istiklal Caddesi" of our biggest city IstanbulTurkey you will see 5 big churches of different sects of Christianity and only one mosque whereas in some European countries they are still discussing if mosques should be made in their cities.

In Turkey if you go to Nursing Homes of the state you will see that a church, a mosque and a synagogue stand adjacent to each other
