@clouds882 I had a vinyl copy of something called "Joplin in Concert". it was a 2 disc set - one side with BBHC and the other Full Tilt. I don't know if it was released on CD but there have got to be copies floating around somewhere.
@jackhillty Im pretty sure you can find that on CD on Amazon. I have the vinyl. Its awesome. Love the way it folds out and there's this huge photo of Janis. Its somethin special to have indeed but...I DO think its on Amazon. I can check if ya like. ....used to be an Amazon CD addict hehe! Such good deals. Even the used ones.
Take home message; even though Janis is gone, her voice isn't. It's obvious because of fans who still keep her from disappearing forever. Don't you see how her messages are still alive. Because the idea lives on longer than the person if it's something really of value to people. Learn from her, and spread the word.
Who knows, if Janis came on the scene at this present time she wouldn't even have a shot because she isn't a pop tart clone; I remember the days before video when you didn't give a crap what ppl looked like that were singing; you just loved the music!! How much talent is out there right now? We'll never know.
Thanx. U're right that was one of great Lonely song ever.
SIngin by Paul but it's almost written by John Lennon. Everytime i listen eleanor i'm amazed that such Super famous band was great expressed about loneliness by ordinary people.
does anyone have a video of the live version of "All is loneliness" (which is ten times more poignant than the studio version) ? i doubt it exist, but, yeah. thanks
Probably a more consciencious use of drugs and a lot less tight asses with sick ideas of world domination & totalitarianism would actually work.
A drug is a chemical. It does nothing by itself. People abusing drugs however, or people taking drugs that their system cannot tolerate is what causes trouble.
So the trouble is people & irresponsibility. And you can apply that to food, politics, drugs, religious fanaticism, etc.
What I wonder is when did it become so bad to simply... feel good?
HAHAHAHAHAHA....... Why do u think Janis was as good as she was? She was awesome without the drugs but with drugs she was a GODDESS! All these good artist.. janis, jimi, Jim..... all their music was because of drugs. They had talent but when they took LSD they SAW.. the music they FELT it n that where you get the emotion and the soulfullness of music like theirs..
@Daegred yes is sad ina way .. but the drugs did play their part in pushing them mentally into different places people mourn their loss so you Jini Janis and others buit i feel they burned so bright while they were here they werent meant to last for a hundred years
@Daegred yes is sad ina way .. but the drugs did play their part in pushing them mentally into different places people mourn their loss so young Jimi , Janis and others= buit i feel they burned so bright while they were here they werent meant to last for a hundred years
@Daegred Please explain to me how drug use emphasises talent, especially in Janis's case. She herself said when asked that she wouldn't know what acid rock was because LSD wasn't her drug of choice.
@xXPinkGoddessXx you have to be a drug addict talent to be able to expalin this.. I'm not advocating for drug use here at all. My point is that there's no sense to ask someone, who's not a god-gifted artist to say how exactly the durgs influence his/her skills....
@BlackCrowNavajo this is your opinion, and I respec it. I am not religious myself at all. But I have a belief that there are cetain powers beyond our perception. Whether of extraterrestiral origin or even out of the matrial world - that's a different point. the term "god-gifted" is just a stable expression and does not necessairly imply that one has to believe in God when says that.. we also say 'god damn it" and "thanks god" even being convinced atheists.
I'm agree with you, she was what she was because of her story, parents, teachers, friends, food, languaje... obviously HER life.
Talking about people, not about politics or so, I think that the problem with drugs is not the drug itself but... the excess -as in anything- and factors like: People judging, pointing, doubting. Generally this people (Janis, Jim, Cobain, Amy, Hendrix) are rejected somehow by the society and good manners THEN 'MAYBE' WE NEED MORE LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING!
I think she's fabulous. A pity she was such a druggy, homophobe, self-hater.
