I am still mesmerized by this song and KC's voice. I agree: the live audience response is almost identical to the staged reaction in the movie. Just shows how GREAT this is! Thanks for sharing.
So grateful to see and hear this again. I watched Mr. Carradine perform this on the televised Oscars. Is this the same Oscar performance, or a performance at the Golden Globes? I'm guessing the latter, but will stand corrected. Thank you so much, Mr. Carradine. Thanks, Drugo960, for this treasure.
So grateful to see and hear this again. I watched Mr. Carradine perform this on the televised Oscars, and both the immediate and greater audience was spellbound. Is this the same Oscar performance, or a performance at the Golden Globes? I'm guessing the latter, but will stand corrected. If memory serves, his performance at the Oscars was done at a slightly slower tempo, and the crowd was mesmerized to the core. Thank you so much, Mr. Carradine. Thanks, Drugo960, for this treasure.
just man, his voiice and his guitar plus some mesmerized audience. it's like im still listening d radio, sounds d same. why can't artist of 2day make something like this? such a shame...
i really enjoy keith carradine singing this song i'm easy.my sister had the 45 record,i heard this song back then& i still like it alot.who would have thought i would learn the computer and become able to go into a Whole new World of being able to see and hear AWESOME performances& Discover so many interesting things about our Planet Earth & All the Creatures in it; the sky is the limit .their is a whole new world on the internet's online.thank you for Sharing.PEACE,GoodJob ! KeithC is Talented!
@aragon591 He's not lip-synching... the audio is just off kilter from the video. You can tell in some parts of the song where he "changes" his voice a bit, that's different from the studio release.
amazing how his face doesnt show much expression but he acts with his voice. he is able to convey emotions just with his voice. even the men in the audience seem to be mesmerized. and the audience are performer themselves. thanks so much for uploading.
Damn this special agent frank lundy for those of you guys that watch Dexter.. I recognized him on wild west tech on history channel then found out he was David's brother and now this shit.. CRAZY !! I actualy like this song.. very talented person, makes me like the actor/performer even more !!
In '76 Jerry Brown was in the race to be the next president of the USA. Keith and Ronee Blakeley performed a pre-speech duo for Brown at Johns Hopkins University in MD. Quite a memorable experience for me as a senior in high school.
know what's fascinating? It's just the same as in the film, exactly the same. Note how Carol Burnett is seen doing the exact same move as Lily Tomlin in the movie scene- touching her own shoulder- and the rapt attention of all in the room.
Carradine won the Oscar, in 1975, for Best Original Song. He composed the music and wrote the lyrics of this outstanding ballad. The film was Nashville, directed by Robert Altman

Is this really Keith Carradine? Wow. He has got to be his dad's favorite son.

Ron Nigrini's version is better, even though Keith wrote it. And it's from the movie Nashville.
