We only hear half of the original song in this English-language version. Aznavour's French original, "Les Plaisirs Demodes," starts with a loud parody of 1960s rock music, as Aznavour speaks of couples that no longer touch as they dance. The sweet main tune, as heard in this video, is even more effective as it evolves out of the loud opening music - much as the couple in the song, surrounded by the whirl of modern music and dance, manages to dance, cheek to cheek, in the old fashioned way. .

Charles Aznavour may be only 5'3" tall but his incredible stage presence makes him seem 7' tall. My only problem is that I'll wear my DVD out because I play it constantly. I also love "Lo mejor de Charles Aznavour." The man is incredible!
