When I read the description, "Hendrix of acoustic guitar" I was immediately skeptical. I was thinking, wow I bet this dude is gonna suck, I bet he's just gonna be a Hendrix style rip off. I stand corrected. This is fucking raw, original as it gets. Hes also got pure talent, some of the bends remind of Hendrix, and then he will pull out some sick chords, and a Django Reinhardt run at 2:16 and blow my fucking mind. This is incredible.
Saw Him with Dave Friesen on the Oregon bass and the two of them held the audience captive for 2 hours! If you can find the album "Departure" by Friesen/Kropinski it will mess you up it's beyond good.
I had the privilege of doing a 2 day workshop with this man... the business of music is not fair at all and this is maybe the best example I ever saw! Kropinsky is really an amazing player!! Metheny once said he was the most amazing solo player he ever saw... that means something, no?

Saw him years ago on Johnny Carson w/ Dave Friesen (sp?). Surprised he isn't more well known. Amazing work.
