the imperial guards are liek russians , throw basic troops at them. Because even basic troops pack a punch with thier special weapons. However , always have a stormtrooper squad adn a chimera on standby , these can be used to strike quickly where the enemy is weakest.

I'm a bit confused how are you "throwing" grenades? Unless your guards are just using the grenade launchers?

3 kasrkin squads 2 10 man squads of guard 2 lemen russ tanks 2 kasrkin retinue. to a termiantor capitain. dose that suck? i am getting all of that for my starting apocolypse army. but i dont know if i can get the termie cap but i hate all the HQs in the imp guard and the space marines are apart of the impearium sooooo

Looks like fun! I think people are right when theyre saying the points werent quite even.....but a leman russ and several platoons or vet squads is exactly right though so far.

Pick up a battleforece and youll be at 1000 points or so already, and after that maybe pick up a Chimera to transport a squad of vets with double meltaguns. Thats what I do at least.

well i play guard and s.m and just a pointer a squad of guardsmen can only have 10 guys no less no more and only 1 heavy weapon per squad.

Word of advice, though I'm sure you're probably already aware: If you're gonna play Guard (very fun=D), you need arty support. That's where the power is at. Ordnance makes mincemeat out of termies, etc, provided that the batteries stay out of range.

wow guard is way out numbered thats like 300 points against atleast 500maybe 600 points of marines. belive me i play both and when imperial gaurd is out nubered by stronger opponents they prety much always will loose

That's about a 1000 points of marines and only like 500 points of guard. Trust me I play both

your right about the gaurd but the marines are about 585 point exactly cause they dont have the codexs so they dont have upgrades on them so the armies are almost even

well then you should get a codex for them :P there are 585 points of Space Marines (a little less then a 1000 points), but i have no idea about guard (not realy interested in them)

If I were you I'd save the extra few bucks and get a Cadian battle force though, or even a catachan. You'll get 3 heavy supports added on to what I had.
