This is a great 2 year old gaming laptop that still beats the specs of what I see on the market today. If you by the extended life battery and switch between batteries when you travel it becomes the ultimate mobile desktop.

it's a big difference between the mobility 4650 and the mobility 4670 you wouldn't thick it but you can play crysis on high with no aa at the same frame rate with fraps running on the 4670.

however this card is awesome for the price

im not sure wich i should buy between a Dell Studio XPS 1645 (with 4670) or a Dell Studio 1747(with 4650)

i would stay clear of GTA, even higher end cards have a hard time playing it or struggle. terrible port. but this would run it on med - high because the ati 4570 which is 60% of this card runs on med-low.

Take the gddr3; if a card is using gddr2, newer games will likely be unplayable at the highest detail settings anyways. For medium settings the gddr3 will bump the fps by about 10-20%

@nikosyv , I Now have a Q6700 @ 3.4 , but a Overclocked dual core celeron (they overclock like crazy) Kicks P4(Stock) and Pentium D Ass (When overclocked) , My first Dual core was e1200 and it outbenched at stock my buddy's P4 ee 3.73 , He then went to Pentium D 965 and I Simply overclocked from 1.6 to 3.0 and STILL beat his benchmarks ,So Don't Compare P4 generation Celeron with dual core Celeron......

@nikosyv Well I guess English isn't your first language since you seem to lack Reading comprehension Skills , I was merely pointing out that if you are on a budget ,a dual core celeron would be a Huge upgrade over P4 generation Celeron , No Doubt that a single core celeron is bottle necking a 4770...If your Motherboard doesn't overclock in the bios, Check to see if a BSEL mod might work for you (Google BSEL mod) or a program like Clockgen....

It depends on what resolution you gonna play in Crysis, i'm playing 1600x900 all medium but shaders quality - High. This is max.. resolution for my screen. And try to overclock video card, probably you can get core clock and memory clock runs like ATI 4670, that's what i did.

GPUTool_CTP1 helps you to overclock video card, my ATI runs on 675 - 777 clocks no artifacts, i don't want to go over 675 clock on core and more than 800 on memory clock.

no-no, with gpu clock 675 and memory 800 i got a lot of artifacts in 3DMark06, and game like Crysis Warhead got sometimes crashes after 1-2 hours playing in it, others games runs fine. GPUTool helped me to find max memory clock, so i'm staying with gpu-675 and memory-777. Temperature around 64-76C in game. Try the button "find max" and "test for stability" may be you get high clocks.

Ok, let me explain something to you, ati 4670 works on much higher Core Clock and Memory Clock than ati 4650, using GDDR3 memory. It's means you get more fps in games. 4670 - 4650 with 512MB memory, price difference around 10-15$ in USA. If you're gonna play in games using 19-22" monitor, i think, ati 4670 is good mid-range videocard
