  • Wow, thats kind of weak for a 427 with twin turbos. Check out wallsrodcustom Saturn Sky twin turbo. 404 and makes 1147whp in race mode and 938whp for street.

  • I wonder how much more understeer that heavy motor up front gives you over the stock motor. Don't get me wrong, great idea... but that kind of power in a light car borderlines on rediculous! Is there any kind of variable traction control that comes with it?

  • Thats probably it... figure "stock" the dry weight of a Solstice is what, 2800 pounds or so? An LS7 (assuming this is an aluminum casting) might add MAYBE 200 pounds. So not much extra weight to hook up with. Still a fun idea though.

  • They didnt use the stock suspension, Mallett has packages that guarantee these cars handle better than stock! You can get this car with less powerfull GM engines also.

    The installation looks as though these cars came right off the factory line! Mallett gives you a 2 year/ 24,000 mile warranty also.

    These cars pull over 1g on the skidpad and go through the slalom at 70mph.

    By the way, all LS7/427 small blocks are 100% aluminum.....except for the sleeves ;-)

  • Because for only a micro second on one of the passes did he dip past quarter throttle! when he went past the camera right to left down the street before he turned around, he blipped the throttle but started to spin! listen for it, you could here the turbo spool up!

    When they got the tire package on this car they didn't get the uncontrolled 3rd and 4th gear wheel spin at over 100mph!

    Check out the Mallett web site, they have some great packages for the Solstice!

  • im really not trying to be an ass, but isnt this the same idea as the Ultra?  LS7, turbo charged, light weight...only for something like a third of the cost...and this is sexier.

THAT IS INSANELY SICK!!! u can tell that he's not flooring it, when he gets to the top of 2nd gear on the road, u can hear the tires break traction....INSANE POWER!!!...probably around 700hp in a 2800lb or so roadster??? there is no way he could floor it from 1st or 2nd and maybe not even 3rd!! lol...this is the ultimate project car lol...i want one lol

  • Um sry bud no subframe. Its a hydro-formed full steel frame.  Its just like a vette.

  • The Pontiac Solstice comes with a 2.4 Ecotec (4cyl) engine, The newer GXP version comes with a 2.0L turbocharged engine.

  • on there website the supercharged LS7 package pushes 900hp, 750hp to the rear wheels.

  • What's realy cool is at 1:04 after shifting into 4th it breaks the tires loose for just a second before he hits the brake.

  • Probably just the sound of the external wastegate opening to atmosphere i'm guessing. It doesn't seem to loose traction in the lower gears which is more probable. Sounds nice though

  • At 1:04...he finally goes wide open for a slip second....which makes the tires break loose. Its most likely a customer car so i doubt he wanted to go out and slam on it hard.
