Van was good with Them but he just kept getting better over the years , Im glad he ended up doing all his solo work or we would have missed a lot of awesome music !!!
This singer has made a lot of solo work. Let me enlighten you his name is Van Morrisson. Some time approximately 10 years after his appearance in Them he settled down in Denmark, married a beautiful danish girl. And ever since he has made a lot of fabulous music around the world i.e. US, UK, Ireland (where he is actually from) - yes he is a remarkable maker of real good music.
The singer ain't bad. I wonder if he ever did any solo work.
(And for the love of God and for the benefit of the countless morons on here who don't have a sense of fucking humour...that was a JOKE. Now thumb this up or I'll cut your bollocks off.)
Yes, I love this more than the studio cut!! It´s raw and rough from a fantastic band. In contrast to Them it´s very interesting to check up all those great unknown bands that didn´t reach the highest level. Listen (youtube) to:
THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah".
(What a bloody driving beat)
THE GOLLIWOGS and the tune "Tell me".
(Check up the singer - Yes - it´s him!!)
THE GANTS in "Greener Days".
(High class Mersey Sound from the Deep South - USA)
Don't worry Van. Once the friction of enemies dies down and they find they have nothing in common, he'll start hitting the booze and cheating on her. She will need consolation and you, you will be there for her, as you promised so long ago.. :D
@ugroseno no they aint jim was american and van is irish i believe but i know they aint related and for the gloria thing the doors knew van morrison because they opened for van morrison when they played at whiskey a go go i believe as well
they could never hear what they were playing over the screaming. thats why the Beatles said they stopped live shows. Notice no monitors in front of them and obviously no in ear devices like they use now
Van makes a timing error - @0:25 he starts the verse a little too soon. Good audio and an excellent song to sign off Tucson's 50,00 watt daytimer: KFIF 1550 back in the sixties..ha rock & roll:o)-
I was there! So it makes me feel old, 13 at the time.

i like this more than their studio cut. there is a version of this clip with audio of their studio recording .
NME clips are always a fun trip back to the 1960's.
