  • Once I practiced my splits soo hard with my two friends who are extremely flexible, I can almost do my left, almost touching the ground. But I stretched so much the next day my muscles really hurt and at dance I was farther away!

    This video was made a long time ago, youtube would not let me add my own music, i had to pick from a list and it was the most recent at the time.

  • I'm trying out as a freshman for my drill team, i'm actually relatively close to splits, i'm trying out in April. Will i have enough time to get my splits?

  • @savannah222222 certainly, with alot of practise. im 13 and in the summer i tried learning the splits, i actually got them (i barely practised so it took until December)! But now its febuary and i cant do them anymore, so after u do learn the splits i'd suggest doing them often. (:

  • thanks :) i used to cheerlead and havent done any splits in about three years so when I tried the other day...i could do my right splits and nothing else! it was really depressing...thanks again for helping me regain flexibility, it helped SO MUCH

  • i hate how people say you can stretch for 5 minutes and get the splits like a pro gymnist but it takes time my friend had to wait 6 years of being in gymnastics to get the splits!!!!1

  • @mileycyrusfan1to5 It depends on how flexible you are now, but Im sure that u will be able too do it in 4 weeks or less because I was really unflexible bui i stretched every night.

  • hey im 10 but i teach 3-5 at my school if ur rlly good try 3 days if ur kinda good try 6 and if u need alot of help try a week

  • ......you really can't do it if your not flexible. i still haven't gotten there, but i stretch every other day and im almost there. but dont send out that "if you believe in yourself, you can do anything, regardless of the condition your in" crap.

    My sister wanted tob learn the splits and she's not flexible atall!I had learned the splits a couple of days before so i showed her some streaches and she did it just like that!Same as me!So you really can do it if your not flexable!!!

  • actually no. not true at all. splits can go either way buht ppl who arent double jointed in those areas do it sdeways, ppl who are double jointed in those areas do it both ways but mostly frontways. thank YOU very much.!

  • I think you kind of needed a picture of an old person doing the splits, just to prove that it's possible. I believe you, I mean, I know some sixtysomethings who can do tripod and handstand pose in yoga, but still, a picture would have been nice.

  • I've never heard of that before, lol, try stretching your muscles more carefully, you might have pulled a muscle going down into the split, making it hurt when coming up out of it.

  • this actually helped me get down further, im nearly there! thanks 4 ur help. if anyone wants 2 no.i no another strech 2 help is by putting one leg as straight as u can up against a wall and one leg standing normal for about 30 seconds it helped me alot and now im about 5 cm away from the floor!
