  • are u sure the plastic reflects the image?

  • nice

  • thanks !! xD cool

  • funny trick :)

  • The Peppers Ghost illusion cool

  • IM TOO LAZY!!!! haha

  • Isn't this basically the Dr Pepper's ghost effect invented in the 1860s?

Not that isnt still a very good effect!

  • where can i get this DVD?

  • Awesome -I can't wait for Halloween!

I have a wooden porch on the front of my house with a porch swing. I'm going to do this illusion is a HUGE way by cutting a hole in the porch and having a huge piece of Plexiglas in front of the swing. Then with my HD video camera, I will video myself sitting on the porch swing!

  • What do you do if no one goes to the window and never sees it? Lol

  • what is the name of the intro song that the rapping skull sings?

  • neat

  • heavy metal! cool dude!

  • wow, looks like we can watch 3d like movies!Or maybe in the future....AWESOME!!!!

  • awesome!

  • Can this hologram be made with any video or like a person singing?

  • lmao

    I should try that

  • nice

  • couldn't you just pull the table back to stop it from bowing?

  • i'd rather do a full floating body hollogram than a head

    ha

  • that would be sweet if you could play HALO 3 in mid air

  • they show dis on mystery hunter

  • cool beens

  • Well.... if you have money and a lot of time this is your thing...

  • maybe you could watch a movie in mid-air! lol.

  • that would be sweet!

  • wicked id love to

  • ghostly floating head illusion or homemade teleprompter? either way pretty cool!

  • lol

  • Or 2:48

  • Gangstaaar Skeleton!!!

  • LOL cool

  • its almost christmas! i wish we can do something like that (but christmas videos instead) so that we would have a unique display.

  • oo thats awesome!

  • lllllllllooooooooooooooolllllllllllllll:P:P:P:Pyour the best!!!!!!!!

  • that is hillarious

  • sweet!!

  • I'm Doin That For Halloween man & every other day toooo!!!!

  • yeah any dvd player that hooks up to a TV

  • wow its no work......

  • that's actually pretty awesome, despite being so simple, looks awesome from outside!

  • lmao its like an info commercial lmao xD

  • seems like alot of effort

  • awesome idea, this is much better than cnns holo gay

  • they do this on the old games like mortal kombat..

back in the day where finishing off some people took 25 cents and some skill

  • It would be cheaper to pay someone to sit in the window and pull funny faces all night.

  • LMAO your funny man!

  • will this work with a LCD flat screen tv?

  • awesome, thanks for sharing

  • cool!!!!!!!!

  • my friend did the same but used pc monitors n his pc, cgange any screen, rotete, add n change sound, its got no limits, was awsom, edit n do anything to improve, good huh..

  • A friend of mine did this but on a much more technical level, instead of small tv,s he used a bunch of cheap pc monitors hooked up to pc, he could change the image in any screen be it a pair of wolf eyes or a floating head like here, it was awsome, no dvd player just streaming images, as many as you can find on net, cool huh...

  • WOW THATS NICE!!!

  • ima do disz 4 halloween!!!!

  • Wow,you resurrected 1970's video game technology,groundbreaking!

  • sweet

  • That's helsa cool..

  • will this work not leaning against a window like could i make a holographic tv to watch at night? =)

  • think so

  • just throw a real dead body on your lawn, now that will attract some attention.

  • I'm following this video and making one for Halloween. I just need Plexiglass or the plastic. I found a goblin head online and then I used Crazy Talk (It's an animating program) and now the goblin's head is floating around a black background and blink and moves!

    Can't wait until Halloween!

  • cool^^

  • whyere can u get the dvd wit the images from

  • where do u get the dvd from

  • nice idea

  • Badass decorations :P

  • jaja thanx thats cool

  • Can I get the dvd without that rapping skull?

  • That looks so cool :D

  • you can also use fabric, a white bed sheet stretched out will also work well, or window nets.

  • thats mad work

  • I cant find this plastic...can I use "PlexiGlass"?

  • I believe this to be the same material as PlexiGlass. If not, I can't understand why PlexiGlass wouldn't work.

  • Plexiglass is basically rigid plastic anyway, for all intents and purposes, so it should work the same.

  • Yes

  • here in Greece I cant find a good plastic...can I use PlexiGlass?

  • umm it says in the video that you can use plexiglass

  • Lol i scared my freinds doing this and thought my house was really haunted XD

  • that's easy to do and very cool!

  • this is too much for juat 1 out of the 365 days a year

  • But well worth it if it's done right. xD

  • u cood make your computor like this!

  • Ah the old Pepper's Ghost technique, classic!

  • Thats cool.

Years ago I remember playing a fighting game in the arcade where the character where holograms fighting on a table. Now that is the best graphics I ever saw and that would have been back in about 1994 - Always wondered how they did it.

  • Seems like a variation of the Pepper's Ghost illusion. It has been used to turn a woman into a gorilla in carnavals.

  • at 0:37, i have that same DVD!

  • This concept has also been used in some video game arcade machines where you have to shoot objects with a gun. The TV is flat down in the cabinet and a glass plate reflects the image.

  • I like the rapping sceleton

  • gracias!

  • What song is the skeleton singing? it's awesome.

  • i need to make one of these.

think i can make one of myself?

  • i need to do it 2!

  • yes you can

  • oooooh my gooood *sets up computer screen*

  • well, why not just use a mirror I think it would look better with less work.

  • This will reflect the image but it won't allow the transparency to have the pumpkins visible in the background. In other words, a mirror would work but the head won't appear to be floating within a real background - short answer, it'll look less realistic.

  • Because then it wouldn't be transparent and you couldn't set up a scene behind it... if you're just gonna use a mirror, why not just put the television set in the window?? lol

  • You'd not see through it. And for some reason it's a requirement of ghostly images that they're... ghostly. Translucent and the like.

If you're a little better off or making a more permenant one, you can use teleprompter glass which does much the same job just a little bit better.

  • Well, you could, but you wouldnt be able to set up a real background for the image to appear in.

  • what about the transperensy? you wont have any with mirror so it wont look as good.

  • Just cause mirrors wont be able to show the background images, hence there would be no reason to make the pumpkin background.

The goal is to make a "Floating" head image

  • it wouldent work it would refelct the immage back onto the tv with plexy glass it just sits on the the plastic

  • A mirror would reflect too much detail (people may realize it is a TV). Plus it defeats the idea of it being transparent. You can't see through a mirror...

  • using a mirror will let you without a background scene...

  • because if people will come to the window they could see them selfs 2)the mirror will block the background think before you post imho

  • the point is to be able to see through the GHOSTLY head which would have to be transparent. and mirrors arn't

  • u dont see the background

  • u wont see the background

  • because with the mirror the image of the tv may also be reflected

  • No...first because you won't be able to see the background.

  • Yes, this is a common misconception, but with a mirror, you will not recieve the illusion of the it floating if you use a mirror.

  • You don't understand, then it would reflect everything outside the window, and you would lose the transparency effect.

  • nice

  • i'm going to scare the crap out of my parents!

  • Very cool!!!

  • Very cool. great effect guys.

  • I can't be doing all that. Just going to get my mate's granny to sit in the window with a bag of onions.

  • perfect ha ha

  • cool:P

  • Well now that's nifty!

  • can u do this with a regular dvd and have it be like a projector?

  • EFFORT!

  • very cool

  • cool

  • god. americans really take halloween seriously.

we just dont answer the door an watch tv.

  • It would be great for a shop window...

  • theres a massive version of that in a museum somewhere except you lie down on the floor under the plastic and you come up life size and see through.

    awesome. XD

  • That would be great for haunted houses.

  • u must really get the tricks done on halloween!

  • thanks for the trick!

  • this is cool!!!

  • A simple Pepper's Ghost illusion.

  • awesome xD

  • my friend and I are SO gonna do this...go door to door and scare the shat outta the neighbors at 3AM

  • nice

  • Wow awsome idea

  • lol @ 00:56

  • Where do u get the dvd? i want to try it!

  • This would be perfect for haloween :)

  • I have that exact same DVD player

  • i have the same tv they showed to ajust the bright and constrast i have the same menu

  • me too, its pretty common and inexpensive

  • your house must kickass on halloween

  • i was about to start but its too much work. good idea tho.

  • Whoa. Sweet!

  • Monochromonite, since projectors are bright, using a projector in the background would cause the head to shine through the window ONTO the ground. That's bad. If you use that Plexiglass slab, it would STILL shine through, since you can not keep the lighted black part of the image from showing.

Yeah, lighted black. Here's how to see it: turn off your cable box connected to the TV, but keep the TV on. Ta-da! Lighted black.

On the other hand, this is an AWESOME idea! I'm gonna use it next 'ween.

  • lol nice

  • woow that is so cool

  • lot of work but it looks like its worth it!

  • That is soooooooo cool

  • Awsome Video! Im going to try it on my laptop.

  • A simpler way is to get a cloth that is basically invisible and project the image onto that.

  • ha bets halloween idea eva

  • Im just to lazy

  • But it isn't a hologram, it's just a 2D projection...

  • but the trickertreaters outside the window dont know that

  • if you have the money, why not just use a projector instead of the tv?

  • it would be easy to see the projector, while the tv would sit below the window.

  • lol wow

  • Dang I wannadothat in my room so I can have a holigraphic tv....it would be sweet...just like a 3d movie...

  • It's not a hologram. It's a projection. Sorry.

  • Love The Singing Skull!

  • Best Part

  • That's pretty awesome

  • it would be easier to use a laptop

  • We do this every year at our halloween party...Easy and it looks good! The DVD characters are pretty fuckin funny!

  • Cool. Cheap. Easy way to get a hologram picture. they should use this in movie theaters!

  • i did it my mom scared the crapes

  • wow....i wish we celebrated halloween.

  • awsome.

  • wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much time.must tak up to like an hour maybe 3

  • Nice commercial!

  • Ahaaaa, u dont need a TV. GET A LAPTOP. it wil work better with the brightness. or a LCD screen would be better. connected to ur computer so u dont have to buy their dvds.

  • i like your frame rates

  • why not watch all tv and movies like this?

  • It looked like a skeleton rapping it up...

  • omg i agree is it worth it?

  • wow i like this!

  • very cool, but way too much work.

  • Sounds fun

  • thats AWESOME!!!

  • Cool!

  • man i m putting this is front of my house so kids dont cum loll more choc for me jjkz
