Owned by their old label Festival,it made its US Debut in 1968 on the ATCO Label on the Lp "Rare,Precious & Beautiful,Vol.1"..it returned in 1970 on "Best Of Bee Gees",but was removed by Polydor in the '80's for "Tomorrow,Tomorrow" I believe because of license..It returned on 1991 on the "The Record" collection.
i have been a HUGE fan since the "60's. just love ALL your music. have always wanted to send my love of your music to you. thanks so much for all the beautiful songs. many more to come i hope.
I just found the group who did a cover of this song (I don't know if it was a cover or not, actually)...but The Status Quo did a version I played on my close'n'play record player enough to drive the family CRAZY!
WOW! I didn't know the Bee Gees did this song...I have an original 45rpm record of this song, a demo copy, that went out to radio station in my area a the time...I liked the song...played it enough on my close'n'play record player enough to drive my family CRAZY!
@Bigboomar My God, Bigboomar, what the hell's your problem? Nothing wrong with somebody including their age within their comment. Lighten up and don't be so insulting!
@Bigboomar Be as pissed off as you goddamn well please to be. But don't make anybody else's problem. Some young kid telling their age doesn't always mean that they're trying to show off or get themselves put into the spot light. Maybe they're sometimes just being kids. Chill out, for God's sake!
I am 13 years old and I love the Bee Gees. The best group of all time. They're very professional, very united. I know the whole biography and discography of the Bee Gees, they're wonderful!
Agreed. Just one thing though... Do you really think people give a shit as to how old you are? People usually come to videos like this for the good music, not so see countless people saying how old they are like it's god's blessing to the earth that some young people still listen to some actual music. That said, I must also say that you have a good taste for real music. Be proud of that, don't be proud of your age.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH. It is one of my favorite promo videos they have ever made. I love how they were all so young in this. And it was in Australia too. I feel sad that they couldn't promote this because by the time this hit number one in Autralia they were already headed back to England. Just think that could have been a greatest hit. Well it is in my book anyways.
@wismgism They moved to Aus when they were 4 years old. Your several years actually were 17, and they left after this song became a hit in Aus. It was their 12th single. They only left to be marketed globally. Fucked if I know what they identify as, but none of us can say what they aren't.
@BonesTheCat Actually Barry Gibb was nearly 13 when they emigrated to Australia and the twins were 11, Andy Gibb may have been about 4, they left Australia before this was a hit, they heard that it had become a number one single during the boat trip on the way home to England.
@thalliadruid Well maybe you don't live in australia? Because we don't have accents. Also, Australia is multi cultural and alot of the kids are first generation so they have accents from their parents with other descents
Leave Justin alone, he has his turn in a space in time as did the Bee Gees. So sad time moves on, people die, oh well thats life. The Bee gees were so fantastic!
Great sounding record; A little more upbeat and catchy than most of the BeeGees songs I remember from that era. I would venture a guess that this wasn't a huge hit in San Juan.
@lrd9999 I don't know, the whole thing has to do with context. If people are unable to see that words change meaning with the context they're used in then there is something drastically wrong with the educational system. Spicks and specks just refers to bits and pieces.
I feel like I'm 8 years old on a friday night and listening to this with my dad on his record player.....Dad always had a soft spot for Bee Gees cause he went to high school with them.....love this song so much
I know! He has some great stories, but like he has said in interviews, NO regrets!
A good way to live life.
My mother also went to school with Barry Gibb at Scarborough state school (primary school). Apparently she told him there was no future in playing the guitar and should stick to learning his math.

The spicks and specks of girls in my life were not available to me because of a little lady who barnacled me early.
She floundered my efforts, that were doing well, before her pleadings from me for safe harbour.
I provided such for her, despite advice from spicks and specks of good girl friends, that she is not right for me.
We had children. And then she met a more preferable bark, and has since chosen to scuttle my efforts to be with my kids.
All very expensive.
Spot barnacles early.
