  • This is a great song after years, special that drumsolo.

  • Such a simple yet wildly enjoyable song with a very memorable video.

  • I'm 14, from Mexico....the last few years i heard Bee Gees's songs and i love all these songs!!!

  • Owned by their old label Festival,it made its US Debut in 1968 on the ATCO Label on the Lp "Rare,Precious & Beautiful,Vol.1"..it returned in 1970 on "Best Of Bee Gees",but was removed by Polydor in the '80's for "Tomorrow,Tomorrow" I believe because of license..It returned on 1991 on the "The Record" collection.

  • Like the quo version better a.

  • The spicks and the spicks?

  • Johann Pachelbel dislikes that plagiat.

  • Truly a masterpiece. The Bee Gees live on forever.20120114@6.47am Saturday.

  • A beautiful song :)

  • Great song

  • love this on piano(L)

  • love the song but loved the show more.... god ill miss it :'(

  • Who are these 2dislikes? Fools

  • @quatie They thought spicks was racist...

  • i thought it was when i was gold

  • i have been a HUGE fan since the "60's. just love ALL your music. have always wanted to send my love of your music to you. thanks so much for all the beautiful songs. many more to come i hope.

  • I just found the group who did a cover of this song (I don't know if it was a cover or not, actually)...but The Status Quo did a version I played on my close'n'play record player enough to drive the family CRAZY!

  • WOW! I didn't know the Bee Gees did this song...I have an original 45rpm record of this song, a demo copy, that went out to radio station in my area a the time...I liked the song...played it enough on my close'n'play record player enough to drive my family CRAZY!

  • do i understand the meaning of spicks and specks by listening 2 the song?

  • MAKE IT HD

  • No-one gives a fuck how old you are and we don't respect you any further for it. Makes you seem desperate for attention actually.

  • @Bigboomar My God, Bigboomar, what the hell's your problem? Nothing wrong with somebody including their age within their comment. Lighten up and don't be so insulting!

  • @stitchesful

I can be as pissed off as I goddamn want.

In all seriousness that kind of thing ticks me off, desperate pleas for attention and respect are a virus among youth these days.

  • @Bigboomar Be as pissed off as you goddamn well please to be. But don't make anybody else's problem. Some young kid telling their age doesn't always mean that they're trying to show off or get themselves put into the spot light. Maybe they're sometimes just being kids. Chill out, for God's sake!

  • @stitchesful

Fuck 'em. If anyone wants to be offended by this, that's their choice.

Theres a lot of worst stuff out there, and some random cunt on Youtube saying something is so trivial.

  • @Bigboomar Whatever

  • I am 13 years old and I love the Bee Gees. The best group of all time. They're very professional, very united. I know the whole biography and discography of the Bee Gees, they're wonderful!

  • Farewell to a great Australian ABC show "Spicks and Specks" that used this as a theme song.

  • Another Pachelbel's Canon song, but a great tune nonetheless.

  • 2 dislikes they must be deaf !!!

  • catchy song, thumbs up if you agree!

  • @nugget4040 Then I give thumbs up for the song itself;-)))Not for you!

  • Just one? Did ya love her?

  • Comment removed

  • Robin gibb was really good looking back in his days..lol

  • i loved old songs from the 60's to the 90's, but especially the 60's. love the lyrics xD:

  • love this song, very emotional. bring back memories

  • my dad always played this song when he abused me :D

  • @waksweazle Lucky you oO

  • Heard this on the radio, the Blue Bananas Original version i believe and i loved it.

  • Im 14 and in love with this song. Who says it has to be new to be cool?

  • @hanahgray Mee, too, but I'm 15 :D

  • @hanahgray

Agreed. Just one thing though... Do you really think people give a shit as to how old you are? People usually come to videos like this for the good music, not so see countless people saying how old they are like it's god's blessing to the earth that some young people still listen to some actual music. That said, I must also say that you have a good taste for real music. Be proud of that, don't be proud of your age.

  • @hanahgray Who cares how old you are. Music is timeless and so are we in a warped little way

  • @hanahgray Who says the new is cool?

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH. It is one of my favorite promo videos they have ever made. I love how they were all so young in this. And it was in Australia too. I feel sad that they couldn't promote this because by the time this hit number one in Autralia they were already headed back to England. Just think that could have been a greatest hit. Well it is in my book anyways.

  • Please tell me to read back if necessary but I've always wondered what significance if any does "spicks and specks" have as a phrase? Love the Gibbs.

  • I love this song,it is awesome....and i usually listen to metal...but the 60's has awesome music<3

  • The spicks and specks of girls in my life were not available to me because of a little lady who barnacled me early.

She floundered my efforts, that were doing well, before her pleadings from me for safe harbour.

I provided such for her, despite advice from spicks and specks of good girl friends, that she is not right for me.

We had children. And then she met a more preferable bark, and has since chosen to scuttle my efforts to be with my kids.

    All very expensive.

    Spot barnacles early.

  • THEY'RE HOT

  • Who gives a fuck where they are from, what they call themselves, just enjoy the music.

  • @wismgism They moved to Aus when they were 4 years old. Your several years actually were 17, and they left after this song became a hit in Aus. It was their 12th single. They only left to be marketed globally. Fucked if I know what they identify as, but none of us can say what they aren't.

  • @BonesTheCat Actually Barry Gibb was nearly 13 when they emigrated to Australia and the twins were 11, Andy Gibb may have been about 4, they left Australia before this was a hit, they heard that it had become a number one single during the boat trip on the way home to England.

  • @Orky210 Who cares, really...

  • @BonesTheCat I do...that is why I put the record straight...

  • @Orky210 Blah

  • @BonesTheCat That is just the answer I would expect from a simpleton that got the facts wrong.

  • @17DJLOVER Simpleton. lol

  • col english sound ?? they are australian....lol

  • @blueeyes9591 yeah im australian to but we don't have 'aussie' accents, each person sounds differently

  • As every person from any English-speaking country has an accent when they speak English, plus slang words.

  • @thalliadruid Well maybe you don't live in australia? Because we don't have accents. Also, Australia is multi cultural and alot of the kids are first generation so they have accents from their parents with other descents

  • my mom got me into this song.... maybe even the band :3

  • what a cool english sound. wish i could live back then when music was better =(

  • nobody can get tired of this song it rocks

.I wish all the members were still alive to make their band fully alive.

  • such good music...remembers me of childhood

  • @madeasjo

An meine Jungend. Eine schöne Zeit, damals. Denke dabei immer an meine erste Liebe.

  • Songs like this on the radio years ago made working a boring night shift just so much better.....1.00am 2.00am 3.00am....this kept me going.

  • Life was so much slower back then Dont you agree??

And a lot simpler easy going now you have to make sure you dont hurt some one,s feeling,s??

  • So greatful the Spicks and specks show uses this as their theme song! Might never have found this work of art :)

  • Leave Justin alone, he has his turn in a space in time as did the Bee Gees. So sad time moves on, people die, oh well thats life. The Bee gees were so fantastic!

  • the one who disliked this video must be a fan of justin bieber

  • Classic '60's song, very cool

  • One person doesn't now a classic when they hear it .Their probably not an Aussie any way.

  • i can t believe that there is somebody who don t like this song

  • 0 dislikes. The way it should be.

  • it is not a version of this song it is THEIR Song

  • i have this with status qou from the sixties,i think...they do a great version of this song!!!

  • what is meant by spicks and specks anyone???

  • @tashing23 Spicks and Specks refers to little bits and pieces of something. In this case, it's the singer's life.

  • @TheRandomAustralian now i started to understand...by the way thnks..

  • i really love this kind of...it refreshes the memories of the past....

  • best song ever

  • 1:40 the person the left is hot

  • omg i remeber this song, wow lolll

  • timeless !

  • got the barkeeper of my rock-pub here in germany to play that thing every night when i am there :) love it!

  • i wish maurice didn't die so i could appreciate them some more D:

  • Great sounding record; A little more upbeat and catchy than most of the BeeGees songs I remember from that era. I would venture a guess that this wasn't a huge hit in San Juan.

  • @lrd9999 I don't know, the whole thing has to do with context. If people are unable to see that words change meaning with the context they're used in then there is something drastically wrong with the educational system. Spicks and specks just refers to bits and pieces.

  • I feel like I'm 8 years old on a friday night and listening to this with my dad on his record player.....Dad always had a soft spot for Bee Gees cause he went to high school with them.....love this song so much

  • @shemericify I thought they dropped out of school before that time.

  • @shemericify how it feels like to live to their great days....

  • omg, there's almost a gay moment here....really strange..oh, well,nothing wrong with a little brotherly love i suppose.

  • Great classic song which has that certain melody that transends time. Whether it was written then or now you know it's a hit. Regards.

  • 0 dislikes. shows how good they are :)

  • love this song, it reminds me of my childhood. Despite the sadness of the lyrics, is a song that always brings me great memories.

  • Amazing!!!! Theresa<3

  • Fine !

  • this is one of their greatest songs...

    please bring back time^^

  • @TheMatze1184 no problem .. hardly used time machine for sale :)

  • this is such a great song, it knocks me off my feet each time i hear it. thanks for sharing!

  • lol around 1:54 ^^

  • My uncle played the drums on this single!

Russel Barnsley. His daughter was married on the weekend. Great song!

  • @NathanKlo Your uncle was the drummer of the sing? That's great!

  • @adminkefas

I know! He has some great stories, but like he has said in interviews, NO regrets!

A good way to live life.

My mother also went to school with Barry Gibb at Scarborough state school (primary school). Apparently she told him there was no future in playing the guitar and should stick to learning his math.

    How wrong she was!

  • Back in the day when these songs were recorded and these videos were made to accompany them, where did they show the videos? Without MTV being around yet, where would they broadcast these videos?

  • How amazing! Not only is their music so different here from what it would be later, but their image is also so different from what it became. I know they were only kids here and that it was a different time, but it's still surprising that their image changed to something so much less conservative, not to mention their songs. Don't get me wrong, I like both. I just don't think I've ever seen any other group change this much throughout its career.

  • Brilliant and what a surprise that the Bee Gees have reformed, good news, they are coming to Australia soon. But only Robin. Who cares, thanks for posting this great track and good to see them back in any form.

  • one of my favorite ever since

  • proper quality this!

  • :( I just wish I was a baby boomer then i wood of meet them there only 2 left :( i love you Bee Gees! <3
