i mean walk in a sunday park

  • guys guys, chambers is great, there is no doubt, but have you forgotten about vinnie?

  • @pjakubec23 well when watching a video of chambers. I tend to continue thinking about chambers, other wise i would go watch Vinnie!

  • @Joeskateapool yeah man, I must admitt, both of them are great!

  • @pjakubec23 yes they are and anyone who is a drummer must appreciate what they have accomplished, their inspiration and of course huge contribution to music.

  • MEEEE RE ENCANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Questa è musica ragazzi!!!Professionisti veri la musica è contenta di essere suonata da loro.Grande Dennis come gli altri groove pazzesco!!!W la musica buona

    Andrea da Roma

  • who's greg howe?

  • @harrypothead

The amazing black guy on the guitar

  • @Zappafan1980 i was kidding, ive seen him live, with zero project hour, 2 drummers, a stick, violinist and keyboard and greg on guitar of course

  • @harrypothead

Wow that sounds like an amazing Band i am jelous, is there a CD release ?

  • @Zappafan1980 dude i wish, i tried looking up videos, and everything and just cant find it, you can find photos though on flickr, but yea, its funny because this place called, JAMMIN java, is really a SMALL venue and local scene, and for this mofo, greg howe, to come here, which if you look at his tours, are pretty much all over the world, it was a HAD TO GO type event, and i just thought it was AMAZING to see him, it was sooo low key, if only people knew how bad ass this guy is

  • @harrypothead

IF you are heavy ly into Modern Fusion Jazz you gotto check my Favorite Jazz Band

Hiromi Uehara s Band Hiromis Sonicbloom im tellin you the are freakin sick and there only 27 - 29 years old

Hiromi is a breathtaking Pianist, Tony Grey is the fastest Bass player i know,

the drummer Martin has a weird rythem and groove

  • @Zappafan1980 yea they are really good, but a little to soft for my tastes, thats why i like greg's style, hes got that vahallan rocky type kind of shit

  • @Zappafan1980 Nice! Thanx!

  • Amazing drums. Beautiful guitar sound. Nice melody. Great fusion.

  • Tetsuo "the glove" Sakurai folks. Squat and cough so he can be sure you're not hiding anything from him.

  • Monstrous song. Great to hear Sakurai solo without slapping. They need to let the keyboardist Akira get some.

  • Really pretty ,melody. I like this tune.

  • wow..idol sakurai...

  • These guys don't PLAY their instruments .... they ARE there instruments !!!!

  • dennis is a very good drummer , keeps his time and rhythm even though he seems to be going into another direction as the rest of the band is playing , meaning like he plays into a solo in the song , but i guess thats what fusion is about .

  • hallucinant!!!

  • somone said jam like, that....people do know these are arrangements? actual songs, they're not just jamming....first lessons if you want to learn to play like this :P

  • I am late to this party, but good to be familiar with these players. Each player sounds so well rehearsed, but the music has a very open, free feel to it. Also love the sustain of the guitar. This is great stuff. Thank you jesusmqp for posting this and other Greg Howe clips!

  • this is the best of the best..........

  • There are many great drummers out there, but Dennis Chambers... WOW!

  • @sofakingrate No one is on Chambers level !

  • @Jazzelegance I'll second that, the dude is a beast and an amazing time keeper, I'm jealous

  • @Jazzelegance Try Dave Weckl. Listen to Bill Connors "Step It' CD, and the Chick Corea Elektric Band.

  • DENNIS CHAMBERS:GET BEAST OR GET THE FUCK OUT

  • Yeah only Dennis his counts is amazing, the best in that department!!! Guitar player is also killing it man!!!! This whole band is sweet!!!

  • Yeah only Dennis his counts is amazing, the best in that department!!!

  • IT IS THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS INSTRUMENTAL REMINDED ME OF THE BEGGINING OF A GATO BARBIERI ONE. THIS IS SO FUNKY . I LOVE IT

  • Do anybody know if these guys ever recorded a CD together ???

Is there something I can buy ?

    thanx

  • @Basscauts

yes, this was the tour for the tetsuo sakurai's album: gentle hearts, which was recorded with the same line up. you can also find some songs of this tour on the greg howe's album: extraction, which also has dennis chambers on the drums, but howe himself on keyboards and victor wooten on bass

  • @gonzoguri

that's really kind of you !

tomorrow I'll try to find something in stores !

  • @gonzoguri hey man can you tell me what kind (brand) of bass guitars did tetsuo sakurai use?

  • @yhtomitalmighty during this tour/dvd and this video it was a fodera bass, an emperor model i think, during the time of the album recording he was still using his signature yamaha trb, or at least that was the bass he holds on the album cover.

nowadays he keep using fodera basses along with some vintage fenders

  • the drummer's awesome

  • @MrYeswecan14 all these musicians are awsome. five stars.

  • the four guys are from other planet, specially greg and dennis special touch from GOD

  • damn these guys gettin off mad sick

  • @Wolfsrain200 Yes it is. Chambers is devasting. Your average person will never hear music at this level.

  • @Jazzelegance

i got the privelage of learning from longineu parsons III, he played with chambers, legends.

  • wow that was fking amazing

  • Fk yeaH!!!!

  • Oh! Dennis!!

  • oh yeahhh!!! i feel liike playing streets of rage on the sega mega drive II.... sweet

  • boy i love this video! they are all GREAT, but imagine this....a trumpet, or tenor sax instead of the lead guitar! or maybe not instead, i wouldnt want it to lose that fusion vibe... so maybe trumpet/or sax takes befor the drum solo, and guitar takes after and outtro....man this song goes hard..

  • @mvialva lol well thats the point of fusion guitar, if you could sum up how a guitarist plays fusion, you can pretty much say it takes place of a brass instrument.

  • @eddieisfiction most definitely man, I can hear Kenny Garret SHREDDING on this tune

  • mtOOO bOOm

  • This is so sick. All the instruments blend well together. So groovy.. So nice.

    Top notch musicians.

  • LOL is that a blast beat at 3:45?

  • no it's not.

  • Dennis Chamber's solo was awesome.

  • please elaborate.. ^^

  • Love this song since the first time i listened to it!!! What a totally amazing bass line, and the melody!!! this sholud be considered a real supergroup!!!

  • sounds like casiopea but with more class

  • only dennis can count time like that in solo. nutz.

  • He actually told me once he doesn´t count at all playing this stuff! It´s all about "feeling" the original beat and "the 1" :-)

    crazy stuff!!!

  • Dennis is great, one of the best ever, but you could have included Dave Weckl as well, in that statement about counting time like that. Check him out, he's the drummer of the Chick Corea Elektric Band, and was in the Bill Connors trio, unreal drum parts, I tell ya!

    :-)

  • Ye, both are great drummers! But, as you said before, it will be great hear Weckl's interpretation of this song:)

  • Oh Weckl has grooves in him that are unreal and syncopated so tastefully!

I just love his style, but then he's been my favorite drummer since 1986....

  • My favourite drummer is Chambers, but i wouldn't say that Weckl isn't, it's my personal music taste!

I respect Weckl, i know is a Real drummer!

    Hai capito?:)

  • Come hai fatto a sapere che parlo

    italiano?

    :-)

  • @washington1 he's probably not counting this. Dennis is just sick like that. But what's more amazing to me is that I've never heard band hold on to the groove like this while the drummer is playing this kind of solo! Pretty sick.

  • @washington1 Hm. Try Dave Weckl.

I love Dennis, but Weckl is far more intricate, and just as clean in everything he does.

  • That was the first time (besides wooten) that I have actually enjoyed a bass solo

  • This is amazing.

    What album is this off?

  • Tetsuo Sakura - Gentle Hearts

Also...you can get the live album version of this DVD...however i just ripped myself a copy from the DVD (The live version's solos are way more insane than the CDs!)

  • i love this song, but is quiet better the studio's one. The second guitar, the riff, is unbeleivable

  • I ordered this DVD last week ! Unbeleivable !

  • ....where did you order it from?

  • I return to this video and find myself mindfucked by this group's synchronicity and groove. Who can hope to achieve this..? Let's just be content to be inspired by these guys.

  • These guys are awesome and I love them, but to answer your question "Who can hope to achieve this?", I'm gonna direct you to the Chick Corea Elektric Band with Dave Weckl on drums and John Patitucci on bass, and then to the

Bill Connors Trio, who had Dave Weckl on drums as well and an amazing Tom Kennedy on bass.

    :-)

  • I have never heard drumming like that ! Dennis was beyond his normal devasting self that night ! ! !!!!!!!

  • Bliss, Nirvana, whateva! you have the right idea, my man. A joining together of such massively talented forces for a glorified "jam session" is enough for me to bow down.

  • o my god...

    what a play...

  • Well funk you too! :P That was hot wit a touch of old skool!

  • 私はそれから出ることをすべての人々があなたの口で持っているたわごとを言うすべてように天才がであるもの、あなたの口を閉めてよいそれらの4である最も信じられないい音楽家、ただそれだけ知らないことを考える

  • joe, please understand English and Japanese are completely different language from each other, so it is very difficult to make the computer translate English sentense into Japanese. What you wrote, we Japanese cannot understand. Better write in English, i guess.

  • This is the ultimate "A-Team" of badass players. I'd give my right testicle to be able to jam at this level.

  • when you get the best guitarist, bassist, and the one and only dennis chambers, this is the genious that happens

  • What about Akira Onozuka?!

  • yeah, dragon ball was genious too... lmao

  • damn, the way they end is so awesome..

  • Howe is great guitar player but this night he wasn't top

  • Nice

  • Dennis Chambers, no one close !

  • I liked Tetsuo's White Yamaha TRB....but his Fodera is just as Beautiful and wonderful sounding

  • Akira onozuka is such an inventive Keyboardist!!

He's amazing when playing rythms..when soloing.....just amazing!!!!!! about Chambers what to say...out of this world!Crazy!! and Tetsuo Sakurai is soooo melodic!!his phrases are one of a kind!!!and he slaps in a unique way. phenomenal performance! i love the hole show!

  • is this a Casieopia (sp?) tune?

  • I dont think so (casiopea) but it quite sounds like one

  • nice

  • hahaha at +/- 1:05 and +/- 5:40 they start with a samba kinda pattern groove... vry nice idea.

  • Players at the top of their game, performing so harmoniously together...this is nirvana for listeners fortunate enough to appreciate such badassity. ALL 4 guys here are phenomenal.

  • those grunge ppl care more about trends or fashions... everytime i speak with ppl like that i hear them sain about creating new sounds but usualy they have that kind of thinkin like:

"everythin i like is good, if i dont like it is bad music" or "music dont need to be complicated" ...

only open minded ppl with inteligence and character can fully appreciate/understand music like this.

    real soul, groove and talent

  • Indeed

But he SoaringTrumpet wasn't referring to the grunge band lol

    He meant this is bliss.

But i think you knew that.. I dunno. One cannot always determine things like this on Teh Interwebz

However, this is a truly godly performance.

  • I was just overthinkin about it.

Tks you made me come to this vid again ^^

I like a lot the bossa groove during the bass solo.

  • Sakurai is now my favorite bassists, he has groove, soul, and incredible Jazz solo intiution.

  • Tetsuo is so SICKKKKKKKKK!

  • beautiful bass solo!

  • The drum solo from 3:15 to 4:23 was sick!!

  • Ungodly, unbelievable, and very distburbing ! No one is close to Dennis Chambers ! He stands alone ! DENNIS CHAMBERS ! DAMN !

  • Sekurai is sick ! Grat solo and groove !

  • dennis chambers .............

  • Dennis Chambers greatest drummer ! No one close !

  • Damn !

  • Nice version of "Autumn Leaves " .... cool !!

  • dennis , maybe the grooviest person in this world , that's funky good : D

  • this groove of dennis chambers is godlike!!

  • yo.

  • this song live is much better than the studio version

  • Chambers locks a groove like no other,well..as well as all the other greats of drumming for sure :)

  • A fascinating song, interpretation and video as well. It was love at first listening:)
