Is this wonderful beach for you guys? This is a piece of shit. I prefer Maldives, Boracay, Bahamas and etc. Actually beaches in Thailand is not world class. THAILAND is the SEX TRADE Capital of the world.

actually, this part of Phuket is really nice, Kata and Karon beach are fantastic. Dom't say ANYTHING about Boracay. It a wonderfull beach but the only girls You find there in the night are prostitutes and that place is full of americans, australians and canadees. And surely they are not there just to enjoy the beach. I was there last year in Febbruary. I saw enough.

So before talking badly about Thailand, please go to look yourself!!!

i stayed in the hotel up that first hill, they had a tuk-tuk service just for the patrons cause we fat aussies couldnt make it up! They had a phone down the bottom and everything.

It works in a similar fashion to Google's Street View (explanation on the site). There are also some links in the menu on the left which will take you to both Karon and Patong beaches.

Hi, im going to Karon in 2 months, i have been there before! What i recommend is that you travel to Kata, thats a much more calmer beach and not that wild. And if you live in Kata there is not THAT far to the other beaces or shops.

Karon och Kata sitter nästan ihop,man kan promenera men för 200 B så åker man tuk-tuk. Bästa snorklingen hittar man inte där utan på öarna runt omkring.Phi Phi är värt ett besök.

If you take a Tuk Tuk (thailand taxi) it cost about 150-200 baht. And it takes about 5-10 min. And its not THAT much to see when you snorkel in karon, but its a bit fun. If you really would like to have a good snorklig time...take a day tripp that includes Coral Island! :)

In the corner of Karon it's pretty popular to snorkel. it's not great, but it's good!

it's not far at all. it takes about five-ten minutes to walk to kata. And 1 min to drive. I don't know which beach i like the best. It depends on what you want to do. Karon has the biggest waves. It's almost none at Kata.

Karon and Kata beaches are fairly quiet... Patong can be seedy, but the good part is if you would like to go and party with lots of people one night you can as Patong is not very far, like a 10 - 15 minute TUK TUK ride...

I see so much changed in Karon since I came there in the late 80's. The road to Patong was just a dirt road and the traffic circle didn't even existed them days. The Arcadia was the only big hotel and only a few farangs. Had a bar at the Happy Bar complex, but had to sell it, lack of punters.
