Cool video, but isn't this a MicroMoog? I used to own one of these years ago (sold it to finally get a Mini), and didn't hear it ever referred to as a Multi.
Is this model one that just looks the same, but is a little different than a Micro?
@2:10 it sounds like bubble farts lol I like this moog alot I got the little phatty tribute its cool but the vintage moogs have a certain phatness to it that cant be recreated.
I have one of these, It sounds so incredibly unique with it's flaws and a soul of it's own, it just inspires me in a way that no soft-synth ever could and that makes it worth all the money and trouble. It is completely useless to compare this to digital machines and you'll end up with completely different music. Compared to the rather mellow minimoog, this is by far the meanest moog of all and I love that.
The main problem, they become to expensive, only collectors can afford a 1500 euro multimmog, and the maintanace kills your wallet too, the sound is beautiful no doubt, but to midify such a thing is another story, its real retro, thanks for the vid
I don't mean to knock this synth as its probably legendary BUT for the type of sounds being played in this demo, I really have heard softsynths do the same thing. I guess you would use this more for bass and leads but in the context of a song would it sound a million times better than software? No doubt great at the time it was made but I can't think of a use for these type of sounds other than prog rock. Anyone agree?
If you listen to the 2 micromoog videos by "AutomaticGainsay" and then figure that the multimoog has 4 more white buttons and 5 more black knobs than the micromoog, you should figure that this is a pretty good monophonic instrument . Considering that "AutomaticGainsay" did almost 13 minutes in total on the micromoog and that this instrument has more features than that one.
Great to see the Multi Moog make its debut performance here on 'You Tube' !! i am also a very proud owner of this model and so i really appreciate hearing/seeing another fellow musicians presentation of this wicked beast !!
Add another video asap (Mike) because i am sure these postings are going to spark great interest.
Got such a lovely raw sound, Korg 770 style!

Has anyone ever used this particular synth to do the trumpet-like leads on Emerson, Lake & Palmer's "Karn Evil 9 (3rd Impression)"?

The Micromoog came first. 3 Years later, Moog Music decided to develop a "deluxe" model...
I have a Micromoog - it is a great instrument.

All you need now is a Polymoog and a set of Taurus pedals, and you'll have a Constellation...and a huge repair bill at the end!

They go for around £750 on ebay but you only ever see about three per year. It is said that there are less than 1000 left in the whole world.

Theres one on ebay right now (2 days left) (in Cardiff UK) currently at £195.

I like how you got that sample and hold activated by the afterpressure. Nice video. I have a MicroMoog but I wish I had both.
