I actually feel sorry for the soldiers. These young guys can't figure out why they're not wanted. "They just don't want nothing better I don't guess." Can they fathom that they are not necessarily bringing better?

Of course civilians die by both sides. In a war innocent bystanders are always hit if they are at the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm sorry, but this documentary is so obviously biased towards an 'anti-Western' view.
The picturesof the shock and awe campaign on Baghdad intermingled with the comment 'bombs on civilian population centres', when by all means military targets were being attacked, shows that this documentary is out to prove a political point.
I suppose I should have expected Al Jazeera to release something like this. Another step towards equating the West with terrorist that plant bombs in market places.

You actually made the point that those special forces bud buddies do not seem to get. The Afghans dont need a second Amendment, through the invasion steming from Alexander the Great to the Russians, it has sadly become part of these folks culture down there to carry arms. I guess the "hardcore" spec. ops do not know history that well....
