Dre. etc. those are all great producers to me, some of 'em is underground but they're good, you should check them out if you don't know them!

A plugin in the sense that we're talking about here, is a piece of software that either generates tones or renders some sort of effect on any given sound you route through it. There are a few different standards.. VST, DirectX, and RTAS.

Fruity Loops IS a sequencer. Not all producers do their drum mapping outside of their sequencing equipment/software.

With innovations in computer-based technology, hardware like MPC's and drum machines have competition.
