I grew up with this game but sadly I never have beaten it, I would get up to the fortress in world 8 and I would just be wiped out after it, this game is VERY tricky, its harder than the new mario game for Wii. But I will say I love the Mario Allstars version I love how they added the backgrounds and made it look newer., they did a great job with it. one of these days I will finally have to beat this game. HA HA!

I like how the Bowser boss theme in this game is remixed in Super Mario RPG during the initial battle with Bowser there. :D Plus, the graphics here are better than I remembered. :o  Great game. :)

Hey did you know at 0:27 you can duck and jump into the hole above that 1up box, then stand up and you will slide through that wall, without having to descend the staircase. :)

Ha ha I played this level with a P-Wing (do they have those in the NES version, I played the Game Boy one) but anyways it gives you unlimited flight and I just flew over Bowsers head. Poor guy, it must have been so irritating for him!

I remember playing this game, bought before I was born (i AM only 12(turning 13)) I LOVED it (still pretty much do lol) And it was SO cool, Our games have changed so much, Its not even funny! I love this game and I wish my super nintendo still worked! i remember thinking it was awesome and great graffics (along with super mario world) but things have changed, and people wont appreciate this anymore =/

There is a trick here to get rid of Bowser's fire if you have P-Wings instead of racoon power.

Here is the trick: at 1:06, the wall you see behind you, fly over that wall and land on the ground that's close to the wall (but don't go any further), then after you land on the ground fly back over the wall and then you can fight Bowser. (Bowser will still be able to blow but, no fire will come out of his mouth).

I remember doing this trick when I was playing this game and it worked for me.

I love Super Mario Bros. 3. I have it on the Famicom (which is harder), and I enjoy playing it. I especially love fighting Koopa (I don't use hammers to kill him; I let him kill himself by crashing through the floor to his death).

Instead of reverting to Super Mario from Raccoon Mario when hit, you revert to small Mario, ALA Super Mario Bros.

You can also kill him with fireballs. (You just have to keep shooting fireballs at him and very soon he will die and fall through the ground without crashing through the ground).

@abagtha778 I still found Koopa easy here. A lot easier then say Yoshi's island which took a lot of attempts to master the awkward targeting and the Mario sunshine fight which was just annoying. He's doing the hard Koopa also there's an easier one with a wider pit.
