"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" --Isaiah 5:20
@TheStrawberryLolicon Yep. Ive even seen some and Chinese Japanese dragon statues by ponds. I may be wrong, but I think I remember reading about how in ancient China, rainstorms and floods were said to be brought on by dragons.
We didn't attack the British or Europe because (I think) we either didn't know enough about them or they were a good supply of trade or weaponry. Also Moving all these artilleries might have given an earlier advance to gunpowder technology!
@hermanislose well actually i'm also a chinese and i agree we were alot more powerful but actually we had all the best lands so who gives a damn about some rocky islands?
I have noticed that almost every western special on ancient China is done by Brits. Always there is at least one British expert doing the special and it is usually a BBC production. In addition rarely do they have actual Chinese experts on hand......I wonder why the British seem to have such an obsession with ancient China.
this is genius but they should make a mobile version of the flamethrower like the us military's one and also make it so that it can go great distances like about ~50 feet.
If they did, they would have run into the Byzantine Empire, which had the flamethrower several centuries earlier. Greek fire.... ;)
Also, you have to deal with the fact that Europe actually wasn't as backwards as commonly thought. The Chinese had enough trouble dealing with the Tibetan Empire (yes, they had an empire almost as big as T'ang for awhile). Historians don't use the term "Dark Ages" any more, as it has too negative a connotation.
@123elnat its true in a sense for western europe i.e france germany and england, but byzantinium and the arab nations kept the greek and roman knowedge alive though the byzantine christian emporers slowlly but surely banned the ppracticing of and cclosed down the ancient school set up by sorates aristotle and plato.
The Byzantine flamethrower only shoot bursts of flame, on the other hand, the 10th century ancient Chinese flamethrower shown in this video was the world's first continuous flamethrower.

@lowenklee I still don't understand though. How did it become so bad? Barbarians were actually pretty aewsome with architecture and everything. Watch "The Barbarians" -- The History channel. I know. Not the best source, but it seems to be pretty good. They cover 8 civs. They r all amazing.
The Germanic people were not a cosmopolitan urban people, they were illiterate and tribal (rural) and incapable of maintaining the complex infrastructure they conquered.
It would be as if a horde of Central American farmers (no offense) swarmed a military deprived USA, dividing it into petty states, and declaring themselves the new political order.
Imagine the human tragedy, and the compounding effect of the subsequent systemic failure.
@lowenklee God no. I am sure that they were pretty competent. They establish decent govt. systems and the Frankish kingdom of Charmengle is the testament to that.Too much christianity I guess. lloll..
God yes. Rural and illiterate. Precursors to the vikings a few centuries later really.
The Frankish kingdom were hired muscle and incorporated the established Gallo-Roman gentry into it's bureaucratic structure, even so it, it was primitive compared to the Roman system. And Charlemagne was king centuries after the events.
It was the Germanic migration era, a massed, often violent migration of frequently feuding tribal people that set back European progress by centuries:p
I am not talking about strategy and stuff, they were geniouses when it came to that, I am saying that on an individual unit scale, the Romans or Macedonians were much more organized (things like legion formations n stuff)
Solarian2495, you have NO idea what you are talking about. Chinese Empire is 10 times the Egyptian Empire. They also had 20 times the Roman Army! Talk about Complexity! True military organization is shown through complex divisions used by the Chinese. In fact, the sole reason why Rome fell was because the army was mostly for offense and lack long time stability while the Chinese Empire lasted a hell lot longer! Please refrain from making a fool out of yourself.
Chinese dragons are lords of WATER, they have nothing to do with anything fire related.
