Paul's always been faily week at double bass, i mean weak when he tries to go as fast as Lombardo. But the fact that he can't do double bass fast he makes up for with how he uses it, Killing fields, the double bass on that is very good, not fast as fuck but complex and non the less, fucking awsome. As a drummer i'd rate Paul higher than Lombardo.

That shit is just as hard as anything Vio-Lence, Testament, Death Angel, Forbidden or any other East Bay hardcore band put out back in the day. Half the metal bands out there will way they were influenced by Metallica.

Battery is probably the fastest thing ive heard from them, which is pretty shit because slayers material kills most of metallicas stuff in the way of speed.

Yeah Kirk would beat Kerry, but Kirk uses a wah too much and james's voice is good but its still not as good as it was during their albums up to 1990. Im on about what band lived up to the term "Thrash Metal" and i dont think metallica held it quite as well as slayer still do. Lombardo just kicks Lars's ass in terms of speed which puts the icing on the cake for me considering metallica arse supposed to be a thrash metal band. Battery is one of the only songs what lives up to the genre i think.

I am in the USAF, but I was Army for the past 9 years. I was AT this show when it was recorded (I'm from Hayward, CA), and I took this DVD with me to the nasty desert for my 2nd tour of Dirka-Dirka-stan. This shit gets me amp'd, ready to get behind the M-240 and let the LT or CWO pull pitch on that helo to some hot LZ while my asshole is sucking wind.
