I found Thaddius easy. Too easy. Vanilla Naxx was far more fun! Even though you spent all night wiping and getting further through the bosses you'd probably spend your week at the least wiping on them, it was a lot of fun. Shame though. Clearing the whole place in Wotlk in the same time you would've taken to kill one boss in Vanilla is pretty depressing.
Yeah, 3 mins m8. It's not an overgeared group. Try Naxx in full blue or green gear for fun and you'll see how skilled and focused your raid is.
I always laugh when ppl are recruiting for Naxx runs and asking for a minimum gearscore of like 5k. Naxx was scaled for way lower geared people and it's not fun grinding it with an overgeared raid IMO.
I don't think it's a particuarily big feat especially considering this raid is now a year old and gear has improved so much that many tactics in this raid have become... Well, a bit redundant.

Actually, when the the tanks are being thrown to other side they will also change their threats on the mini adds. Taunting the add immediately after swapping positions wouldn't hurt either tbh.
Let me clarify. It's not possible that the amount of aggro had anything to do with it, because that's not how the aggro mechanics work on that fight. The only way possible for stalagg to follow the tank he just threw, is for the tank to taunt him just as he's thrown. Hope that clarifies.

When I was doing this (25 man), about 15 people didnt make it and yet we still downed him.. It might be something to do with me and the others who survived being more experienced, or higher Dps or something - but according to this video we should've wiped. Anything going on here?
I hate doing this boss fight on 25 man. Sadly it's because it is almost required to have the 10 stack of the buff through most of the fight. And also sadly, almost every single time there are 5 people who don't make the jump. Then when they run backk wipe half the raid because they're positive and they jumped on to the negative side of vice versa. If you have less than 20 people up through the bulk of the Thaddius fight you won't down him cuz you won't have the 10 stack of the buff.
The last time I did this fight, some idiot hunter pulled Stalagg before the grp even got a chance to buff...on a later attempt he got aggro during tank throw and broke the tesla coil...

a fast note battle rezs/ankh are almost impossable to pull off in this fight so if someone does die unfortunatly they have to sit it out and watch. GL.
i may sound like an idiot here but the only problem i have with this fight is the jump. everything else is fine. i nearly always miss, would i even have to jump when using a swiftness potion? could i just run straight over through the air?
i think in 3.0.8 patch priests got the ability levitate - so if you have trouble jumping ask the priest to use it on the raid and they can float over to tthaddius's platform
he uses dominoes and mikscrollingbattletext, to see every1s action bar, he is not usin an addon. go into the raid section of your social tab and drag peoples names onto your screen, that is how you cood see ppls health

Thanks for the video. I did Naxx for the first time a few nights ago and my raid explained this to me but not well enough. They only gave me a halfassed explanation on the possitive/negative thing. They said Positives to the left and negatives to the right. But I didn't know the whole thing was a debuff so when he did the polarity thing I had no idea what I was so I took a guess and got killed. :D
I actually did this for the first time yesterday. Unfortunately I tried to jump a little too late and fell. An amazingly alert dk turned on path of frost and i was able to get back into the fight within 15 sec using aspect of the cheetah. The funny thing is that everything worked out perfectly. We got the achievement for not mixing positive and negative the whole time, and I tied for 3rd for damage done.
if anybody has problems noticing debuffs, seriously go get deadly boss mods. when ur polarity changes u get a HUGE warning on ur screen. not like its hard anyway but u can get distracted by things sometimes but the warning also makes a noise that u should notice unless ur like completely deaf :P
i was kicked out of the 25 man because i did not fucking recieve any debuff and died then the raid died cuz they didn't have my DPS and needed it b/c of the enrage he has...... this was uber bullshit
This is very helpful! My guild told everyone new to naxx to check out how-to videos on the bosses, and TankSpot is my favorite by far.
I have one question though. With the two-point strategy, you have 2 groups on either side of Thad, and when he shifts polarity, both groups switch sides. Do both groups take damage as they go near each other when switching, or is there a buffer time before the debuff takes effect?
if you closely look at his debuffs, he has 2 of them. when polarity switches, he only has 1. then after a few seconds he has 2 again. within that time frame that everyone only has 1 debuff, you can go near each other to switch. once you get that second debuff you can't be near anyone else that doesn't have it.
Frank is right, there is a time window (3 seconds?) after a polarity shift, in which you can be near people of opposite charges without any damaging effect.
eh its not that hard, you just have to keep full attention on your debuff to make sure you're on the right side. That and good communication makes this encounter easy
Vent won't distract or kill you, you will. If your guild is full of noisy fouls then yes, could be an issue, otherwise its very useful. Your raid should have rules about when talks and when so as not to have 25 people talking at once.
This battle took us 5 or 6 times to get down good, we do it a different way, we use the slime and the big thing behind him as markers as the where to stand according to which buff/debuff u have. + is by the machine behind him - is to the slime. it all depends on what your guild finds easier, both are good, both work fine. Great videos though.

ok, the first part with the two mobs reminds me of the fight in Karazhan (Romulo and Juliana) the second is the first boss in heroic mech, both easy, yet complex. I've done both numerous times only wiped once in kara out of 30 times of fighting the opera and never wiped in heroic mech the guild has always been ontop of their game. This fight seems pretty easy as 10m from what i can see it explains iself ^^ thanks for the video

i think in 3.0.8 patch priests got the ability levitate - so if you have trouble jumping ask the priest to use it on the raid and they can float over to tthaddius's platform

if you run with a mage, have that player cast slowfall on you, it is impossible to miss the jump with this cast on you.

he uses dominoes and mikscrollingbattletext, to see every1s action bar, he is not usin an addon. go into the raid section of your social tab and drag peoples names onto your screen, that is how you cood see ppls health

hey guys just a quick question.. im using deadly boss mode so it alerts me when the polarity shifts.. When polarity shifts.. does it always go + to - or can it stay - to -?

you can stay - to -, indeed on a rare occasion you wont need to move at all because youll stay the same charge the whoel fight!

Thanks for the video. I did Naxx for the first time a few nights ago and my raid explained this to me but not well enough. They only gave me a halfassed explanation on the possitive/negative thing. They said Positives to the left and negatives to the right. But I didn't know the whole thing was a debuff so when he did the polarity thing I had no idea what I was so I took a guess and got killed. :D

I actually did this for the first time yesterday. Unfortunately I tried to jump a little too late and fell. An amazingly alert dk turned on path of frost and i was able to get back into the fight within 15 sec using aspect of the cheetah. The funny thing is that everything worked out perfectly. We got the achievement for not mixing positive and negative the whole time, and I tied for 3rd for damage done.

if anybody has problems noticing debuffs, seriously go get deadly boss mods. when ur polarity changes u get a HUGE warning on ur screen. not like its hard anyway but u can get distracted by things sometimes but the warning also makes a noise that u should notice unless ur like completely deaf :P

i was kicked out of the 25 man because i did not fucking recieve any debuff and died then the raid died cuz they didn't have my DPS and needed it b/c of the enrage he has...... this was uber bullshit

This is very helpful! My guild told everyone new to naxx to check out how-to videos on the bosses, and TankSpot is my favorite by far.
I have one question though. With the two-point strategy, you have 2 groups on either side of Thad, and when he shifts polarity, both groups switch sides. Do both groups take damage as they go near each other when switching, or is there a buffer time before the debuff takes effect?

if you closely look at his debuffs, he has 2 of them. when polarity switches, he only has 1. then after a few seconds he has 2 again. within that time frame that everyone only has 1 debuff, you can go near each other to switch. once you get that second debuff you can't be near anyone else that doesn't have it.

Frank is right, there is a time window (3 seconds?) after a polarity shift, in which you can be near people of opposite charges without any damaging effect.

eh its not that hard, you just have to keep full attention on your debuff to make sure you're on the right side. That and good communication makes this encounter easy

Vent won't distract or kill you, you will. If your guild is full of noisy fouls then yes, could be an issue, otherwise its very useful. Your raid should have rules about when talks and when so as not to have 25 people talking at once.

Ironically the hardest part of the fight was jumping onto Thaddius's platform. Once we did it properly 3rd try we downed him 0 problem.

This battle took us 5 or 6 times to get down good, we do it a different way, we use the slime and the big thing behind him as markers as the where to stand according to which buff/debuff u have. + is by the machine behind him - is to the slime. it all depends on what your guild finds easier, both are good, both work fine. Great videos though.

ok, the first part with the two mobs reminds me of the fight in Karazhan (Romulo and Juliana) the second is the first boss in heroic mech, both easy, yet complex. I've done both numerous times only wiped once in kara out of 30 times of fighting the opera and never wiped in heroic mech the guild has always been ontop of their game. This fight seems pretty easy as 10m from what i can see it explains iself ^^ thanks for the video
