  • it's such a wonderful theme

  • Very nice Old Hollywood feel. You would never expect it to be the over the top schlock-fest it was based on this theme

  • wish they would release the soundtrack on cd one day- but the theme from Mommie Dearest is on a best of cd of Henry Manchi

  • She still got the last word.

  • I love the theme...has a very dramatic and sad vibe... very similar to joan's life.

  • I miss Mancini!

  • Very beautiful, and so haunting. The score is unsettling, in no way peaceful.

  • Sometimes I wish this was the background music to my life. (Especially when I wake up in the morning.). :)

  • This theme is brilliant. A dimensional tapestry weave...as intricate and complicated as Crawford's life probably was.

  • - this score evokes all the ambience of old world Hollywood............both the glamour and the intense loneliness of its inhabitants....

  • ooh i hear flute i play flute >.<

  • s rather subdued melacholic theme for such a powerful over the top performance my Mommie Dearest, especially.

  • Biased but fasinaing. Who'se to say what walking in crawfords shoes was really like.Christina is no angel. I dislike her immensley.

  • The I Love The 80s edition of this DVD comes with the soundtrack included as a bonus.

  • Yet another classic score from Henri Mancini.

  • wish there was a soundtrack made

  • Mommie Dearest: A story about an ungrateful little whore who pisses off her hard working mother.

  • @johnd94 This made me laugh pretty hard XD

  • Magnifique musique!

  • Thank u. When mommie dearest finally hit cable(back then there were less than 6 major cable channels) I could not wait till the end if the movie so I could hear this. It's so beautiful.

  • I love Henry's Mancini's music. This song has always hit close to home with me. I never really knew my mother, as she died when I was 2 from cancer. I've seen pictures of her when she was sick and she looked so tired and sad. Then I listen to this song and it makes me cry.

  • NO MORE WIRE HANGERS!!!!!!

  • I wish there was a way to get an mp3 of this.. I cannot find one anywhere.

  • I got it

  • really? from where???

  • I think I got it from iTunes, the US version of course since I know that iTunes libraries can be different from other countries. It's a wonderful theme, I know they released the full soundtrack back when the film was released but unfortunately it's one of those very 'rare' soundtracks that very few people have in their collections. Wish I could find one... :-)

  • @ohjohnny2341 make your own- there are a bunch of utils online that do it- google "make MP3 from youtube" and try one.

  • I have been spoiled sense a lot of video games these days use similar progressions.

  • He wrote that too. Is he the most gifted genius or is he the most gifted genius!!!!!....rhetorical

  • Wonderful post! I wish someone would offer a vid for "White on White," one of Hank's hidden gems.

  • I,VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG ALL DAY

  • Yes it does have a mysterious melody and haunting effect and at the same time a soft whisper.

  • I sounds like the glamour of being a huge star was a sad thing. Mancini always "spoke" with his music.

  • Hard to believe that this came from the same guy who composed the theme to the 1976 sitcom "What's Happening!!"

  • I love this song! amazing! :D

  • I always loved this song, so haunting! Thanks for posting!

  • my mom hit me with hangers too!

  • Love this song...very dark and melodic!
