There is a short trail that takes you above the falls. There are small pools along the stream about two feet deep that kids like to play in. Just be careful not to get too close to the edge of the falls.
Thanks for the beautiful video. We live in El Paso and are going for the first time tomorrow - your short clip creates more excitement about the trip.
@jmann229: The road is paved all the way now. Very fun drive if you like winding down a canyon road. Also, it is SOUTH of Carlsbad not north. Very great place to take the kids.
Thanks for the info - we live in El Paso and are taking our first trip there tomorrow. I had heard the road was gravel and dirt from friends who had been there a long time ago but it's nice to know that it's paved. My dad was 1st Cavalry in the 30's (still horses) and they escorted the CCC builders who constructed the stone buildings at the Falls. So this trip has a special meaning and we can't wait to see such a beautiful place. Thanks again.
While stumbling thru the desert on sum powerful stuff. As I was headed "NORTH" to Texas? I suddenly found myself 57 Miles "South WEST" of Carlsbad NM at the North Pole or was it Sitting Bull Falls... DOoohhhh
