well first off... this version doesnt suck... his voice sounds heavier than it did four years ago, it just fluctuates. and second, it got that way by bringing us ungodly performances for a decade and a half. so considering that he tore his voice apart, hes still got a damn good voice at this point.

just to clarify, yes james voice did change, especially compared to kill em all, but james did little "singing" on that album, he mostly yelled at the top of his lungs, with the slower parts coincidentally staying on key such as the chorus to four horseman. Albums like master and justice combined his ability to scream with actual singing. After his voice went out (happens to many singers: elton johns voice drastically changed after surgery), he had to sing around his new limited, deeper range.

I saw them in Memphis on this tour. I have seen them many times and this was by far the most heart felt and emotional version of Nothing Else Matters I have seen them perform. I love how James changed all of the "AND nothing else matters" to "NO nothing else matters". Also when he goes into the solo he stands up and kicks the stool it went sliding across the stage, freaking awesome. The way the song ended on stage was perfect too, slow down...fade out...feedback....nice.
