I'm singing this song for solo and ensamble this year... in about a week and a half... i'm really nervous... does anyone who knows this song have any advice for me about singing well or anything??
I am singing this song in about four hours for a recital. I am totally freaking out, but I found your video and I'm listening to it on repeat, just to get the tune in my head. You did a lovely job--and you hit the note I always mess up on.
i sang this recently and i noticed you messed up the words hah. and just some tips if youre ever going to sing this in the future, in the beginning try and take out all the H's in danza and make it more dantza dantza fanchoolah gentile. and when you sing youre t's try and make them dental t's so say gendile almost. it sounds more italian.
I can tell that your tone is lovely dear! My choir director is having me sing this one (Except for high, not medium high), and I was looking for examples. The only thing I would say is to definitly look closer at the breath marks and relaxe your jaw so that it is open more that way the sound will travel outward. I wish I could've heard you in person, your tone quality is just so lovely!
I sang this song when I was in choir participating in regionals and what not in highschool.. =) should put a little sticcato (however its pronounced) toward the end.. and a little crescendo+decrescendo on the around 0:13
ALSO! Why are you using a Mic!? That is a discrace to our type of music. We are not pop singers who rely on a mic. Fill the entire room with your voice. Throw away that pathetic mic. :) But like i said before, you have a pretty voice. xd
I've performed this song many times. I must say you have a nice voice. However, I feel that you must work on your projection and LOW support. It sounds like you're just squeeling it sometimes, like someone from the disney channel. But you have a nice voice....
im thinking about doing this for a solo, and i think you shouldnt listen to all the people saying you should change the way you sing it. i think your voice is great and theres no reason to "sass it up" so just keep up the great work! congrats!
You shouldn't listen to the others. You have a great voice. I'm doing this same song at my s/e contest this year, and I think the way you did it was amazing. (even thought we're singing it in different keys, lol)
Keep working at it! You so obviously have a very pretty and unaffected voice, now the next step would be so sass it up a bit! She's a gypsy girl singing about dancing, so I would flirt a bit more with your audience. Happy trails! =D
i couldn't agree more w/ you lylapathos. i am singing this song this year at state s/e and you did wonderful! i'm doubting that a middle school chorus did better than you at this...... just saying... but you're quote was a total BURN! lol ^.^ keep singing rock on
you have a very nice voice. one thing to work on...when you get in the middle of the staff the notes loose their roundness. work on that. you sound very nice when you go high.
You have a pretty voice, but I feel you sang it too pretty lol. What I mean to say is that I feel it should have been sang in a more aggressive manner with attitude.
I have to sing this song for the district competition that I'm getting ready to do. I have to say I'm nervous because you make it look so easy when I know it's not. It's so pretty.
i guess it was ok but there were a lot of technique things wrong, like how every time you changed not you put an "h" in front or how your breathing was off
i sang this song last spring for solo ensemble and as it is a beautiful song the dynamics for it are very tricky you did a hell of alot better than i did on them thats for sure
i agree...this song is very hard to sing...i have to sing it for an audition this comming monday, and again i agree...look for the breaths, they are indee like gold lol...but..amazing job, your tone was beautiful!
I'm sorry the sound quality is so bad. You're tone sounded lovely, and I wish I could have heard it better!
Just remember to open your mouth taller, not wider. Don't raise your chin on the high notes, and look for breath marks. You sang through a lot of them. They're like gold to a singer! lol. Take advantage.
Thank you very much, I'll make sure to keep those things in mind next time! I think my Voice teacher purposely had me singing through a few of the breath marks for breath control or something, it's been so long I can't quite remember anymore *^_^*
I took this song to Solo and Ensemble in Texas for STATE my Freshman year and ROCKED! Totally got a Superior rating! I love how you uploaded this! Many people are right though you did need help at some places with diction as well as keeping your sound full, but hey It's all good!! Just keep singing!!
Very nice. I'm singing this tommorrow at solo ensemble. You're breathing seems to be very good as well. What did you say as the interesting aspect of this piece? I'm thinking about saying how the accompaniment sounds like dancing as mentioned in the song. Good job:)
i am doing this solo for my auditions for my music scholarship in less than 3 weeks and my school performed this yesterday in districts and got a superior on it & i want to tell you that you were good, but you need longer vowels. I believe that if you make longer vowels that you will sound a lot better and as someone who is extremely talented this would have gotten an excellent but with longer vowels you would get a superior so work on that and you'll do great.
ohmygosh i just accually watched the video.. not listen... well i was listening to but lol you know what i mean.. but n' way.. i do the same thing with my arms too!! haha
I'm doing this song for my high school solo and ensemble. maybe i can post my recital. yet, you did lovely, it was bright, but i think for Italian art, it was quite appropriate.
It wasnt bad by any means at all, just a little bright for my tastes. Then again, I am a very dark singer so im accustomed to hearing it the way I sang it I guess. Just minor things like vowels and phrasing. Well done though!
Ha, I'm singing this for a solo thing as well. I just got it today, so I was looking to see if it was on here. Nice fast pace. Although I'm more comfortable with slower more romantic songs.
i am singing this tomorrow night at a concert with a ladie's chorus.
the onlything i could reccomend would be to flow with the music.
according to my director, this is all about a woman going into a dance floor and picking out men to dance with because she believe's she's the best. i would add more arrogance to your tone and more rythm, as half the song is her dancing.
You sound beautiful. Nice nice nice job!

this song is meant for a SOLO not a chorus....so once you do this as a solo, then you may critique.

This song is so hard to sing! There are a lot of register shifts involved.

Needs a lot of work. Areas of improvement: diction, breathing, intonation, dynamics (you had very little dynamic change).
Good luck.

This is great.
Personally, I despise this song.
Nonetheless, my vocal teacher is wants me to sing this song to apply to my state's governor's school.
I the second "danza danza fanciulla del mio del mio" where you have the option of singing the second F below middle C.
I think you sound great. You should hear me on this song. You'd cringe.
