I am married to a registered sex offender and his life is basically pointless.. I mean because he has this title he cant get a job he has to register 4 times a year at 20 dollars every time he goes and he has to get a new drivers license every year... His drivers license reads REGISTERED OFFENDER in big bold red lettering . i believe this is discrimination

Our government singled out the most heinous criminal offenses (sex crimes) and used the disgust they cause in people to gain support over the loss of offender's rights. They know the likelihood of of a sex offender reoffending! It's JUSTICE DEPT statistics! Why would they do that? To expand it to other violent criminals! Eventually, EVERYONE will either have their, or someone they love, rights curtailed. The rich love this! They can afford lawyers to defend THEM!

Most people have committed what could Techanically by law, be a sex offender offense,, it just all depends on who complains, and if the courts have time to prosecute. they they are bogged down, u get a better plea deal, if they have lighter case loads,, they fry u,, timing can be a deciding factor for if u have to register or not! Sometimes if u wait it out, and dont accept pleas ,,theyll bring them down to Misdeameanors and no Registration . its all a game ;-)

DRACOROAR is exactly correct. We are now learning that drug and alcohol abuse are highly prevalent during sex crimes. What we need and do not have are registries for the drug and alcohol abusers since they are the majority of child sexual abusers.

There was a total of three in FL that abused and murdered. One had a trail of only 24 drug offenses and no sexual offenses until he grabbed, assaulted and killed Carlie Brucia, rest her soul.

The other two were supposed to be registered and one wasn't that was John Couey, he had several drug and sexual crimes from as far back as 1990, he beggd for help for the sex crimes but never received it. Perhaps if he had Jessica would still be alive today with all the crimes of Couey he was still on the streets.

It was more important for her Mother to be out drinkig and gambling in another county than it was to be home with her chidren. Onstott assaulted, killed and threw Sarah Lundsford into a ditch.

I am in complete agreement with pinkstocking. The parents are not teaching good values of humanity and forgiveness. Sellers shouldn't have to disclose that! That is of no importance. The seller isn't the buyer, even if so, not the sellers problem, that's the town's issue.
