I love Jason's tone in his voice, beautiful and I love how he did his own thing. He looked like he really opened up with this song and I think they just wanted him gone so they exaggerated their opinions. You can see how Bob Marley influenced him.

@seifs4 im not talking about volume for 1 the bass in the verse isnt even playing the right notes he got rid of the octive notes, 2 the bass in this version is way to deep, he should of dropped it, 3 he doesnt play the notes "bouncy" enough for a reggae song, 4 the trumpets over power the bass a lot in the song especially in the pre chorus (btw trumpets arent even in the real song). and in my opinion this cover would of been better overall without the trumpets because less IS more. ALL BASHING ASIDE - For me this is one of those very rare moments that will go down in television history. Some people will get it and some wont. For some it was just another performance, like it or not. For the rest of us, it will be recognized for what it was. Long live Marley, Jason and those who envision a better tomorrow and truly enjoy the day.

I laugh at AI but I saw a true talent. He did not belong on the show & Im glad all the Idol-despising music critiques noticed this too. From all the options, JC picked two artists whose anti-authority attitudes are legendary. He is as anti-establishment as they come but in the gentle, polite, subtle package that is Jason Castro. The kid successfully managed to stay true to himself despite Idols efforts to tame, squash & mold him. I have nothing but respect for him & will be tracking his career.
Throughout this performance, I was dancing & smiling (as were the audience) & so happy to hear a song I liked; REAL music on such a cheesy show. Jason was content with his song song, enjoying it, thinkin' Marley, evoking his soul. Then Randy & Si put on their little business suits, did their usual manipulative bashing, Simon acted like the inhumane man that he is & Randy was his sidekick bully (did u hear that "yeah" & chuckle?) LOL I just wanted to get up there and slap them with frozen trout.
What the crap? Danny didn't even make it into the the top, Amanda tried to hard to be Janice Joplin, ans Syesha is too forgettable. JAson is... different, and thats why he's talented.
Honestly, I was very overjoyed that JAson took this show just as seriously as it should be, not at all, it's a game show. JAson was having a good time, just as all the others should have been doing.
Beats me! Syesha really is boring on stage and far from original. I never could understand how she made it so far and Carly didn't and I'm not particularly a Carly fan. Personally I think she made it so far because she followed the AI cardinal rule, "less us dress you up the way we want to and change your outward image" better than any of the other female singers.

I laugh at AI but I saw a true talent. He did not belong on the show & Im glad all the Idol-despising music critiques noticed this too. From all the options, JC picked two artists whose anti-authority attitudes are legendary. He is as anti-establishment as they come but in the gentle, polite, subtle package that is Jason Castro. The kid successfully managed to stay true to himself despite Idols efforts to tame, squash & mold him. I have nothing but respect for him & will be tracking his career.

Throughout this performance, I was dancing & smiling (as were the audience) & so happy to hear a song I liked; REAL music on such a cheesy show. Jason was content with his song song, enjoying it, thinkin' Marley, evoking his soul. Then Randy & Si put on their little business suits, did their usual manipulative bashing, Simon acted like the inhumane man that he is & Randy was his sidekick bully (did u hear that "yeah" & chuckle?) LOL I just wanted to get up there and slap them with frozen trout.

Seriously. Danny Noriega, Amanda Overmyer, and Syesha Mercado were the only ones with talent this season.

What the crap? Danny didn't even make it into the the top, Amanda tried to hard to be Janice Joplin, ans Syesha is too forgettable. JAson is... different, and thats why he's talented.
Honestly, I was very overjoyed that JAson took this show just as seriously as it should be, not at all, it's a game show. JAson was having a good time, just as all the others should have been doing.

Yeah, but as much as people hate to admit it, Danny, Syesha, and Amanda did have an amazing voices reguardless of how far they made it.
Besides, if Syesha was that bad, how come she made it farther than Jason?

Beats me! Syesha really is boring on stage and far from original. I never could understand how she made it so far and Carly didn't and I'm not particularly a Carly fan. Personally I think she made it so far because she followed the AI cardinal rule, "less us dress you up the way we want to and change your outward image" better than any of the other female singers.

Not his BEST performance, but I still liked it. (: & I agree, he was too good for Idol. =] He's much better than that. Jason will do big things, wait for it. :) I can't wait for his CD.

LOVED THIS. Thank fcuk for Castro. It was time for the cheesy show to get a dose of Marley. REAL MUSIC. Castro = WAY too good for Idol.
