North-west of London? It's miles from London. It's south of Birmingham, east of Bristol, South-East of Manchester, South-west of Nottingham.  There's more to England than a geographical comparison to London.

And please pronounce Oxfordshire properly.

Since the program at Wroxton is for mostly American students, I suspect the video is geared toward American kids and their parents. Naturally, London would be their most familiar point of reference. For comparison, it would be wiser to describe Princeton University as being "Southwest of New York" rather than "Northeast of Trenton", as most Britons probably aren't familiar with Trenton, New Jersey.

But whereas Trenton, New Jersey, has a population of around 80,000, Birmingham has a population of over 1 million.

I would also add that the cultural attitudes of London - being high intensity, high paid, low free-time culture are completely alien to the vast majority of north Oxfordshire and the rest of the Midlands populace. London forms part of the over-worked south-east pysche, whereas Wroxton and its surroundings are far more based on the West Country or Midlands perspective. This is why a comparison to London riles locals such as myself.

Truth be told, I have not, but a friend of mine who is British tells me so. Apparently there's not much left of the "old" city due to WW II bombing...
