When drag racing usually if one doesnt go right off the bat means its drag time was better than the other so they have to give the other car a lead like 2 seconds or something. or the driver and the car was slow. you will see this at nitro drags or the night of fire. But the camaros do sucks sometimes. i prefer my mustang gt that is sitting in my drive way. XP

Mustang wasn't stock. There's like 12 of them in my neighborhood, 1 of them not stock, he's the one you can hear coming down the street. Either way, both drivers needs a hell of a lot more seat time. And props to Ford for finally pulling their heads out of their asses and realizing that head design (and flow) play a big part in power made this time around.

Camaro "2010" automatic has the l99 400 hp, the manual came with a ls3 pushing 426, the mustang still had the 4.6 liter i think got up in 4.9 5.0, that guy had a BAD START. The 5.0 is a little different but i saw the videos and the camaro still tied it at 4.6 0-60

chevy have finally figured it out that a modular engine is more efficient... this is why chevy is going to go with a 3.0 or 3.5 V8 DOHC twin turbo on there new corvette which ford has had that engine since the early 90's... reason for making a smaller engine is that will allow then to keep up with supercars and the redline on that new engine will be around 8 - 9k.... there current v8 can not reach that rpm and camaro.... all mustang and camaro guys and gals shd watch the battle of the super cars

@briancb1 Wrong, the 96-04 mustangs are probably the best in terms of mods. Kenne Bell 2.1 intercooled all day, cheap and effective, and will smoke a $35k 2011 SS all day long. The 03/04 4.6 Cobra's are the faster than any camaro or mustang to this date with just a few mods.

This, as one could argue, is because the Ford designers simply do not have it in them to make a modern tribute to the classic vehicles many of us love (see the last incarnation of the Thunderbird as reference).

Okay people, 2010 musatng is not faster then the 2010 camaro, the 5.0 did not come out untill 2011 model. Camaro "2010" automatic has the l99 400 hp, the manual came with a ls3 pushing 426, the mustang still had the 4.6 liter i think got up in 4.9 5.0, that guy had a BAD START. The 5.0 is a little different but i saw the videos and the camaro still tied it at 4.6 0-60

@blc01 why would you say that? the zl1 is in the gt500 range. compare the SS and GT at 6.2L v8 with 426 manual horses vs 4.6L v8 at 316 hp. theyre pretty comparable considering the weight ratio and torque of 410 to gts 420. say its a pretty fair fight. GTs arnt super charged either...

@blc01 400ish automatic and few more manual. yes it is heavier. but it also has a 6.2L engine vs a 4.6L. thats a big difference too and compensates for the weight. the ford engineers also got it right, of how to have a light car, more fuel efficient engine and still keep up with chevys beast. its a fair match. SS and GT will always be competing for the top.

chevy have finally figured it out that a modular engine is more efficient... this is why chevy is going to go with a 3.0 or 3.5 V8 DOHC twin turbo on there new corvette which ford has had that engine since the early 90's... reason for making a smaller engine is that will allow then to keep up with supercars and the redline on that new engine will be around 8 - 9k.... there current v8 can not reach that rpm and camaro.... all mustang and camaro guys and gals shd watch the battle of the super cars

@briancb1 Wrong, the 96-04 mustangs are probably the best in terms of mods. Kenne Bell 2.1 intercooled all day, cheap and effective, and will smoke a $35k 2011 SS all day long. The 03/04 4.6 Cobra's are the faster than any camaro or mustang to this date with just a few mods.
