I do believe that you are using an excuse, and I'll assume that you go to CHS, so using the excuse "they are freshman" doesn't work. Your bass line sucks, JUST AS MUCH if not more than FHS'. and THAT is saying something

FHS isn't any good because no one cares enough to want to get good.
You guys are only better because all you do is practice cadences, and I'm willing to bet that the majority of your players are/have been involved with CAPA. The people that are involved at CHS care a lot more of what they sound like and what they can play.
Oh and a heads up, if anyone from CHS tries out for corp, it doesn't matter how many notes you can play.

yea if we were competitive i would have not done it along with like half of us .i absolutely hate marching and show music and to work harder on it then we already did would suck.
yea some kids on our line look pretty ridiculous and we know it haha. but we were better then i thought we would be this year. And i havent heard many cadences that are "phater" then what we play. but next year could be interesting.
why does there have to be a rival???? we the same thing just under a different name!

Over half the chs bass line is 1st year freshmen. The fhs bassline can not even play straight eigth notes.
