  • Man that final note...

  • if u listen to her singing on the Hollywood Palace 1965, when she opened with Once in a life time, she sounded great, and the west side story medley she did on that shows, was live, not pre recorded like on her show, she did it better live with Vic Dimone on that show.

  • I know- I was just referring to the fact that the vinyl versions were, in fact, speeded up slightly; I recall buying an adjustable speed turntable at one point - i'm very aware of speed variances in playback -a weird talent, I guess - and Judy does such an incredible job on that number it took a lot to convince me....and I am a believer now - that was indeed... Judy just pulling one more out of her bag! What a joyous, amazing few minutes of music. This is what "incomparable" means.

  • It's water hahahahahahahaha I love Judy!!!!!!!

  • Garland rules!

  • Good Lord, that' s wonderful.

  • This woman never stops amazing me. This is one of my favorite late-to-the-repertoire Garland songs. I hope Frank Loesser had a chance to hear her do it. She - and the arrangement - manage to swing the song but keep the song's dramatic impact true to Loesser's original vision. What a wonderful song, what a great star.

  • She owned this song!

  • OK, well, maybe it's played a little fast? Sorta like the original release of Carnegie Hall..?

  • @burleq No, it's not played a little fast. Judy just hit's this one out of the ball park.

  • @burleq Judy didn't perform this at Carnegie Hall

  • @Extremwaves No, she didn't.

  • @BuzzStephens1 she sounds great, i so wish this CD was released in its entirety

  • @joeyjosephs yes I couldn't agree more! This is pure JUDY!

  • Thanks for Posting. After Hong Kong it was hit or miss

This is definitely a HIT..JUDY IS THE GREATEST

    and remember

    WORSHIP JUDY AS YOU SHOULD

  • I just don't think it's from the Palladium w/Liza of them. That voice is pre-Hong Kong, I swear it!

    But beautiful...

  • @burleq Ahhh, but it is from the Palladium with Liza, the second concert. I have the complete show and there is no doubt that that is where this is from.

She had several great moments after hong Kong, check out the video's I posted of her at the Night Of 100 Stars, JFK Stadium, Talk Of The Town etc....

  • If she had only gotten clean/sober in AA/NA, she might still be with us!

  • @mrspatrickcampbell Judy is being ironical in this clip when she asks for water and then comments that that is all it is. She well knew her reputation, the cruel gossip and unsubtle insinuations that became synonymous with her professional and personal personae. Judy was never a druggie or an alcoholic. This truth may confuse some people who may find it too challenging a concept. Yes, Judy drank alcohol; shock horror. Yes, unfortunately, Judy depended on certain medication; she wasn't alone..

  • You are inferring here that Judy was an alcoholic by commenting that she should have "got clean/sober". It is preposterous for you or anyone else to make such an assumption, you didn't know her, nor were you her doctor. Of course Judy liked a drink; it is incredible that she is still being (you are not alone) vilified personally and professionally, even after her death. Judy walked a tightrope emotionally (being highly sensitive) and, like all great talents, suffered for her art.

  • @hirchik honestly you are assuming she was not an alcoholic. No one has the right to make assumptions about someone they do not know, but alcoholism is a disease, and according to her 2 daughters she did in fact suffer from it. Saying that someone is an alcoholic is not vilifying them, it is simply taking into account their misfortunes. I love Judy, I love Liza, I love Lorna. But they are all human, try not to forget that.

  • i wish they would tak eit off the sheleves, because it is totally remixed

  • never heard this before, but i'm really liking it- what a great voice! thanks for posting!

  • It has been written that after Judy's emergency tracheotomy in Hong Kong her health and her voice never fully recovered, but this is not true. She is excellent here, and her shooting a bull's eye through the last note is thrilling. Yet the same year she sang the same song on the Jack Paar show (it might still be here on youtube) and it was awful. One remarkable thing about Judy is that some people loved her good and some preferred her bad, and of course she was keenly aware of that.

  • anybody know where i could find the one where she forgets some words, i think it was one of the if not the last performance of hers at the london palladium??

i love her but i have never see this i just have to see it.

  • That was great!

  • Thanks so much for this post!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!

  • Her voice sounds far better than anything I've ever heard from either of the two concerts with Liza at the Palladium, even her speaking voice sounds clearer and stronger. A great selection of phtotgraphs!

  • she is in incredibly good voice here, we thought it was all gone after hong kong

  • She had many great performances after Hong Kong. I have sweveral nights of her performances at The Talk Of The Town and she is on fire on some of the nights.

Check out the 1969 version of Chicago that i posted, you'd think it was Carnegie Hall!!!!

  • Yes, that version of "Chicago" is faboo! Especially that high note at the end:)

  • wow that was awesome, thank you for posting! I like her little "it's water" remark hahaha.

  • Wow! That version is better than the one used on the album! :D

Do you have the full second concert? Because I would love to trade you for it (If I have anything you are interested in :))
