I tried Sabudana Chakli today.Came out very good.I could use my murukku machine and make perfect rounds too.Good sunlight,so dried fast. Thanks a ton for the wonderful recipe. Can you pls show us Aloo papad or sabudana papad or some snack, where by we dry it in the sun.Since, now it is good weather, want to try out all this
I am on vacation trip at present...and it is summer vacation for my 2 lovely kids so would love to spend some time with them...but will sure try. Enjoy!
Yes, they do come out as crunchy as fried. I have been roasting papad and khichu papad so far in micro so I thought of trying these kind of chips roasting in micro and it worked. I got so happy when I did first time. It is true that if you deep fry, they are mought melting but when you roast, you have to munch little bit but my kids haven't felt difference, yet so....enjoy!
Awesome.. Bhavana, reminds me of those days when all neighbours used to get together and make chakri. Can you please show 'Bharela ringana batata nu shak' when you get chance please?
Thanks for another great recipe. You are very resourceful.
I know I dont have to buy them from India anymore;-)
One question, I got some chakris from the store in India, but no matter how I cook them, they come out chewy & rubbery. What am I doing wrong? I have so many sitting & I hate to throw them.
As I said in recipe, you really don't need to add flour if you steam the potato and sabudan instead of boiling. So basically make moisture free mixture or you can also buy topioca flour at indian grocers. Enjoy!
Hi Bhavna,
Could u please tell me how if it is possible to dry the the chaklis inside the room.I dont have an open space where i can dry the chaklis.

Hi
You can put in your house where sunlight is coming or in dry area around heat....but for best result, direct sunshine is must...

These look really good. I love how you microwave them instead of deep frying and they still sound so crunchy - I need to try this - thank you :)
