@MSBollWeevil they're also using a Vako Orchestron (model A) and a Farfisa organ as well as various delay and phase pedals (Mutron Biphase). Its amazing to think how little equipment they had on their first American tour
Always loved this tune could never understand why they wanted to fart, fart, fart on the autobahn, I tell you what if one of them farted in my car that would get them an auto ban, they'd be automatically banned from my car, perhaps it means someting in Deutche like ousfhart, or mutty unt farty.
@kingofkeyboards Sorry, my dear, there is a little misunderstanding the German language.. They don't say "fun, fun, fun". They say "Fahr'n, fahr'n, fahr'n auf der Autobahn. Wir fahr'n, fahr'n, fahr'n auf der Autobahn" . "Fahr'n" is the short form of "fahren" in German, that means in English "to drive".
@kingofkeyboards Thanks so much for your understanding, dear K.! Btw, nethertheless "fun, fun, fun" sounds always better than saying "fart, fart, fart"...hehe...XDDDD
@Volker400 haha yeah :) I can't really argue with someone who natively speaks German even if I wanted too :) Thanks again for clearing it up. The song makes more sense to me now too :)
i remember when this 1st came out it gave me the chance to distinguish diffewrent sounds properly as u am hard of hearing, 2 my 5 children heard this then what records came after in the 80's they say nothing compares to any music by kraftwerk
@apeman199999 hitler wasnt the first who build a autobahn in germany. the first one was opened by cologne-mayor konrad adenauer b4 nazi-time. later adenauer was the first kanzler of the free west-germany.
Great upload! Seattle radio stations would actually play the long version, which broke with the practice of the day of rarely playing anything longer than 4 minutes.
true talent

The neon lettering is a dead giveaway that this was for the "Midnight Special".

Die Fahrbahn ist ein graues Band; weisse Streifen, grüner Rand.
Nicht mehr und nicht weniger.

@batterycock hitler would have hated this, as he hated anything that transcended his narrow, hate and fear filled mind.
