Let's start off by calling this 'Science' - 'The God Theory'. From the postulates of Punishment and Devine revelations we can make startling scientific forcasts! For example: An abunance of sin and unabated carnal knowlege preceeded the destruction of New Orleans (Hurricane Katrina). Disease is caused by SIN. Instaed of relying on pathology, we need to pray during an epidemic. Epedimeologists will pass out prayer beads and quotations from scripture that will mitigate God's wrath! Haleluyah!
You see, by saying that his faith was a Science I was trying to offend him, as he would have pretended to offend my reasoning system by saying that my trust in Science is a faith, or a religion. That is, people who value faith often attack their opponent by saying that they have faith, which they should value, but evidently they don't. It was a paradox of course. I would never respond in that way, and I was showing how idiotic that is.
Your conclusion was awesomely ironic. I think sometimes that sarcasm can't be conveyed well in youtube comments. I was leading your arguement further by pointing out the 'potential' of creationist reasoning. We should name the new branch of science "Biblology"! Pat Robertson, Ken Ham or Kent Hovind will win first prize for meritorious achievement! The Science/Prophet will win a cruise vacation to one of the 4 corners of earth, & meet a real angel, with wings!
"You see, by saying that his faith was a Science I was trying to offend him, as he would have pretended to offend my reasoning system by saying that my trust in Science is a faith, or a religion."
I've heard that before and it always came across to me(personally at least), that what they meant was "If I am bad, You're no better than me".
hahahahaha....i had one of those laughable debates before , it was like trying prove them the earth is round without a photo in my
hand , Ha . i like your closing statement , too bad their science is to belive whatever those 50 or 60 people wrote , and those 50 or 60 people belived the earth is flat.
It was ironic, I never met anybody. I mocked their responses like "evolution is a faith" and so on, as if to say such is a disqualifying statement for the opponent, despite the fact that they have faith in high regard. I wouldn't do that with science the other way round. I was just pretending.
