When you make the servo straight, you can just go into a picaxe text program and program it like this. Oh yeah, when I put the 0 just put what port the servo is on: servo 0, 115
There ain't no velcro in da ghetto, Homes. Scotch tape or aluminum foil would be ghetto. Ghetto is a car with only 1 hubcap on it, or a milk crate for a driver's seat. Ghetto is running a bead of gorilla glue around a window to keep it from falling down, or screwing a door shut because the driver's door got hit in an accident and won't stay latched! You don't know what ghetto is until you can say you've DONE these things and not just think of a list of things that sound ghetto... heh.
You could also invest a good $20 for a small solar panels powerfull enough to power the whole thing. It would take a good 5-6 volts to power the microcontroller and the motors.
Correction from the comment below.
I used a 4 AAA battery holder but it stuck out from the robot a bit.
But I would recommend you use a backup battery for the microcontroller anyways because the sudden lack of voltage to the microcontroller every few seconds would wipe the program off of it.
A backup battery could also be a secondary large capacitor to capture some of the voltage from the solar panels.
It would be a LOT easier to just use a battery for the whole thing though.
Dude, You are rocking so hard, I am having hard time sleeping over here.. Thanks a lot

@ibm322 It can also follow darkness if a carrot is inverted in the code.

Double sided foam tape would be good for the laser guide mount... more stable, no machinist skills or tools required.
Nice cardboard wheels ;-) Now if they were made from a flimsy PBR beer case... you could officially say they were ghetto.

you dont know what ghetto is untill you were incinerated in a death camp... and i hope it never happens again.

Solar panels won't work, only ~40mA tops. Servos need 300mA+, each.
=P
palmisano 2 years ago
Well solar panels by themselves won't work.
You would have to add a capacitor and a diode and wait while the capacitor charged up.
This would create pulse movements instead of constant.
Its one alternative but not the best one. lol

lol I have seen the site.
Yeah I know that solar panels are a lost cause and not very usefull in most situations but....
Hey free energy is free energy. I think gratis means free in spanish.

I remember when I made something like this.
I used a tuna can lid as the wheels.
I used the tuna can as the body.
I used a 3 Volt 2 AAA battery holder as the power.
I used 2 small low power 1-2 volt motors from radio shack.
I purchased a very cheap microcontroller but I can't remember the brand.
I made the board and it fit nice and snug in the base of the robot.
It was only about $40 for everything.
