ron and rand paul are just more of the same old Trickle Down economics. Their "free market" agenda COSTS too many of us too much while it benefits all too few. It concentrates wealth and jeopardizes our long-term prosperity. In addition, paul is essentially a climate change denier. He turns his back on what EVERY respected scientific institution has been saying in favor of his libertarian philosophy. Reality check please! I hope Obama demolishes the republicon candidate.

If the Federal Govt doesn't receive a lot of tax revenue, you can pretty much guess what would happen to the military, which has become all too industrial over recent years. I imagine a lot of enlisted soldiers and officers would have to be let go of and sent into the civilian world, where their chances aren't all that much better if not downright worse.

Ron Paul outlined his policies. Eliminating organizations like the EPA, FDA, and FTC (because who needs any sort of regulation or oversight?).

Cutting capital gains taxes, estate taxes, and corporate taxes (because corporations and the rich obviously need more money).

Cutting jobs by reducing the federal workforce.

Completely abandoning foreign policy/engagement/diplomacy.

Overturning Roe vs Wade and passing new legislation hostile to abortion at any stage.

The correct Unemployment rate is around 27%. The people receiving unemployment benefits is around 10%. The government doesn't count the people that are unemployed and not receiving unemployment benefits as part of the unemployed. This means 1 out of every 4 people in the U.S. have no job.

Gold standard is not nearly elastic enough to keep up with a modern economy. Basically, your money supply is tied to the physical amount of gold a country has. That sounds like a good thing, but it means that if the economy tries to grow, there isn't enough money to do it, and that causes the economy to collapse (during the 19th century, there was a "panic" about every 20 years. That's not a recession, like the most recent one--it's closer to a 1929 style depression).

your full of shit man. before 1913 there was basically 0 inflation in our currency. this panic you speak of was because of the banks loaning process. called margin loans, which if the bank called the loan in, then the loan would have to be paid in full in 24 hours. all these banks collapsed because everyone came to get there money out of the banks at the same time and the small banks when bankrupt. an economy grows based on production of goods and exporting more than you import
