I should think it is overstating the case to claim Hinduism is amazingly scientific, but it did get some things right, like saying the universe is billions of years old. Also, it seems to me most Hindus see God as a kind of all-pervading force, and their deities as personifications of different aspects of the divine as opposed to thinking there is a literal elephant-headed god, another one with lots of arms etc; so I think it's probably more logical than plenty of other religions out there.

I should think it is overstating the case to claim Hinduism is amazingly scientific, but it did get some things right, like saying the universe is billions of years old. Also, it seems to me most Hindus see God as a kind of all-pervading force, and their deities as personifications of different aspects of the divine as opposed to thinking there is a literal elephant-headed god, another one with lots of arms etc; so I think it's probably more logical than plenty of other religions out there.

I only gave Hinduism, which isn't technically the correct name but more of the modern slang by the way, a chance because I was into astrophysics and they are more accurate. to this day i am still into it and yes, it still SEEMS they are getting things wrong, but in reality the "Wrong" things are more like modern science being wrong or incomplete. I would have said what "Hindus" believe varies a lot surely - there are so many branches. But I know some are focussed on bhakti, which is very much love of a god with personal characteristics. It would have been more accurate to say HInduism tends of be pantheistic and leave it at that, though that's not true for all Hindus either.

I still consider myself a Chrstian in a sense that I admire and live by the philosophical teachings of Jesus the Nazarene without believing he is the only son of God. Over the couple of years, I have accepted teachings from other religions. I have come to admire the teaching of Ram and Krishna. My personal beliefs are compactable to the basic HIndu teaching so I consider mysef a hindu but I discard cow worship and reincarnation and caste(this were added later in hinduism anyway).
